    • One of the draenor perks for arcane mages was making Arcane Blast cast time reduced by 5% per arcane charge. That is now baseline.

And many Legion artifact skills carried over as talents:
    • Paladins got Wake of Ashes, from their artifact weapon.
    • DHs got +20 fury from their artifact, as well as the ability for Chaos Nova to rip soul fragments from enemies.
So nothing that couldn't been done as minor tweeks. And legion carried spells from artifact by removing what was already there. You didn't get "extra" talent, it just went instead of something.

It's still growth, it's still progress. It can be argued that those new talents are more powerful than the ones they replace, just like you "grow in power" when you replace your current weapon with a newer, more powerful one, right?

    The opposite is much worse.

Everquest 1 and 2 just had year after year of compounding abilitys and AA's (basically AP) and eventually both games just turned into a bloated mess.

They eventually merged some abilitys and such in Eq1, no clue if they ever bothered fixing Eq2 for the 70 people that still play.

All those systems are total bs like they are using it to make you play longer
