None. For gathering you have to compete with bots as well as many other players.
For crafting, you need to be super mega dedicated and super mega rich to have your crafting profession at a level where you can actually make money with it.
Blizzard made sure that players are highly motivated to buy tokens to sell for gold.
My advice is to get engineering for nitro boots and forget that professions even exist.

I made a breakdown of some recipes and indeed it’s better to sell the mats most of the time. Maybe stuff like blackmouth oil is worth making but it really depends on current market prices of the ingredients.
Ah, I remember the good old times when crafting and selling glyphs actually made a profit...
Is there already information available regarding item enhancements for the next season, like enchants, gems, armor kits and so on? Couldnt find anything in the PTR patch notes I looked up.
Currently, these item enhancements are all labeled ilvl 610. Will they stay exactly the same or will there likely be new ones or at least new ranks? The question is, whether we should buy all that stuff now or whether that's pointless as there will be new stuff.
None. You will never compete with the bots and trade chat spammers.
Right - not counting this as a necro...since the thread got constantly revived and mods are not closing it.
During DF, I found BS "convenient", because I have a lot of alts, could make weapons for them and ofc armour.
But all in all, you need to hang out, advertise and especially invest a lot if you want to make the best quality.
So effort vs the money it makes and my lazyness - I have now moved to herb and mine for all my chars and it just works perfectly for me. Gear and weapons are not much of a problem anymore...since you can outright buy them..even if it is just Vet gear, it is more than enough for most alts.

I know for a fact that Chemistry has a high profit margin in the game and most of the stuff required for chemistry is of free of charge or with limited cost and who doesn't want pure gold coming from a skilled chemistrian
