So, to top off my Browns -3.5 getting wrecked by a field goal kicker, a field goal kicker just wrecked the last leg of my parlay.

Seattle really, really screams “we’re going to lose in the divisional round.” This defense is god awful. If Russell isn’t playing lights out, this team is mediocre. It’s a .500 team with a superhuman QB.

I don’t see them anywhere near the Steelers level in that respect. Maybe the cardinals are just good with some great pieces? They’re 5-2. The patriots playing them close then doing terrible doesn’t take away from it.

Seattle pretty much needs to make a move at a pass rusher by deadline or they are sneaking into the playoffs in the WC round again. Their pass rush is pathetic and they can't survive on blitzing Jamal Adams when he gets back like they were. Ken Norton might have to go after this year if Pete plans on coaching longer like he says.

I don't know who Dallas is, but he was completely lost and his pass protection was a joke. It was like playing 10 vs 11 when he was out there. If guys aren't healthy they'll need to add somebody and keep Dallas off the field.

and Olsen straight up triple teamed someone while allowing a free rusher to Wilson on the last drive in regulation. Still a few weeks from Penny being back. Who knows about Carson, he could be a few weeks out with a foot injury. Homer should be back next week. He had a contusion. Homer is absolutely essential on those 2 minute drills because every team tries to blitz Wilson in those situations and 9/10 times Homer can pick up those blocks.

As much as I hate the Steelers, Mike Tomlin can coach. That team had no business getting to 8 wins last year and even this team doesn’t feel like it’s THAT good. He gets a ton of shit but Tomlin is a top 5 coach. Probably top 3.

I still have no idea how they won 8 games when averaging 18 points a game. That would be like the Giants winning 8 games this year if their offense stays the same.

Now they are scoring 30 a game with less turnovers. Shows how bad their backup QBs are..

Mike Purcell is out for the year with a lisfranc Injury. Good thing he got a new contract before getting hurt.

Mims & Becton come back from injury, and for about 20 minutes we looked like an NFL team...and then gained 25 yards over the final 35 minutes, and 4 after halftime. 4, count em, 4. How many letters do I have to type so that, if laid in a row, they'd make 4 yards? I'd wager not more than a paragraphs' worth or so.

40 years of this misery, and no hope in sight. You'd think I mained Ret in Classic being used to that kind of masochism.

Lot of offense in the league this year, a lot of scoring too. (not by my team) I wonder if it'll taper off as it gets colder, a few years ago the first half of the season was very similar, but by the end of the year even the hottest teams had cooled off for the most part. Time will tell I suppose.

Giants fan here, just coming back again to say that the Odell Beckham trade was a good trade. Even before his injury, here's what the Browns got out of him:

23 games
~60 yards receiving per game (just under 1000 per year)
55% completion rate on balls thrown to him
7.7 yards per target (Jarvis Landry roughly at 8.8)
7 TDs (that's averaging about 5 per season)

Add in his diva personality and it's just not worth it. I loved OBJ's first few seasons, they were really fun. But he peaked 5 years ago. He has had 1 fully healthy season in 7 years in the league. Now he's a smallish 28 year old receiver with serious ankle, knee, and hip/groin injuries over the past few years. Some players just aren't durable - a few years ago Nicks had 1000 yard seasons at age 22 and 23 and he retired at 27 after 4 injury riddled seasons.

Yea we exist and have achieved Browns status at this point. Good luck with Cam, I would bet they beat the Pats for their only win at this point...division games can end up like that.

Yep, though it’s not shocking that we’re rarer now. Eleven seasons now without a playoff appearance; even for them that’s a long stretch.

Bad drafts, bad signings, bad coaches...and every week comes a new and unusual way to lose.

I have no doubt they’ll find a way to win enough games to allow another team to get a shot at Trevor Lawrence, that’s a very Jets thing to do. Not that there seems to be anyone on the schedule they can beat, but you never know.

A bit surprised at the Patriots stumbles. I knew they’d regress without Brady but we all put so much stock in Belichick...I mean, he won 10 games with Matt Cassel. I still think their defense can win some games for them, and maybe they find their way on offense.

The problem with the Patriots, outside of who they had opt out, is Cam Newton is terrible at throwing from the pocket. Their offense has relies on quick, short passes and he can't do that very well.

The Jets might stumble into a win at some point. They still have the Chargers to play and they are really good at losing games they should win.
