    Mythic Wrathion tips

    Hi guys,

    Our guild will likely do our first Mythic Wrathion pulls tonight and wanted to ask if you anyone has any helpful tips that might reduce our wipe count. We've gone through most of the guides and on paper the fight doesn't look too scary, but it's always different when you're actually doing it.

    So far, it seems that certainly classes can reset their own stacks, but I haven't really seen a full list of them. Is one available?

    For CDs, it seems that ideal places are for Incinerations and during Cataclysm once the raid is stacked. Is this mostly correct?

    Anything else that you found during your progression that you wish you knew ahead of time? Thank you in advance!

    The leaden foot style debuff takes a bit to get used to. Try to get people to reset naturally when possible and support people who have to move with incinerate with things like freedom or life grip.

    3 minute cds tend to sync up with his incinerate casts, so your healers can plan on who will be dealing with even or odd number casts.

    Corruption gear is more of a punishment than a benefit, the less damage from eyeballs and things the easier progression will be.

    If you've already killes nzoth heroic you're already geared enough to beat mythic first three. Goof luck in there

    Draenic Living Action Potions.
    Now if you need to use them, execution wasn't done properly, but the much larger margin of error is always helpful.

    Dk, shaman can't reset. Have pally freedom or monk tiger lust on them if needed.
    Or after 1st intermission, you can stay stack, don't move and wait for the boss to come back to you. This way your debuff will reset naturally.

    Priest can't either afaik.

    You can use life grip and lock gateways and aforementioned free action potions to help people who get "stuck" out of position.

    1. No 40+ corruption and consider <20 for classes without reset possibilities. Classes that can reset are numerous, there should be a list on Reddit. People have to leave dps ego aside, grand delusion + raid damage overlap is a real thread, specially since you are movement limited.

    2. Have your ranged and melee stacks be as grouped as possible. Have them move in to position and stay still as much as possible. This will ease getting Incineration out more easily.
    We had clases without reset stay out after Incineration to keep stacks at a minimum.

    3. When he flies up don't instantly move, wait until you are absolutely sure where he is going and use wind rush totems or similar if available. Lock gate after cata to get back asap. Mind that letting him walk towards you also helped some groups.

    4. If you move into position fast on pull/transition and stay there your stacks will drop naturally before Incineration goes out again.

    5. We had our tanks on his front one slightly left one right. The more immobile one closer inwards. They could just taunt of without having to move. One thing to watch was that ranged do not stack to the front to much as they will get breathed. This happened to us after the transition as people tried to get into position asap.

    6. Freedoms are also often more valuable on an immobile tank/healer (priest) than for dps self gain.

    7. We preassigned mobile melee, monk, dh to soak the scales. Cleave classes focused on grouped shards, st dps on the lone ones further away.

    8. Remember people to dodge swirls after gale blast, we had melee dying after running out of it and forgetting that swirls will follow.

    Alliance guilds; Gnome players can use Escape Artist on every P2 intermission to reset stacks.

    Also let Wrathion move to you, just move yourselves to be closer to the middle area rather then running all the way to him or staying where you are.

    Here's what you can do to reset:

    Demon Hunter -> Vengeful Retreat
    Druid -> Shapeshift
    Hunter -> Master's Call & Disengage (Post Haste)
    Mage -> Ice Block
    Monk -> Tigers Lust
    Paladin -> Freedom & Divine Shield
    Priest -> Dispersion (Shadow)
    Rogue -> Cloak & Vanish
    Shaman -> Spirit Walk (Ele)
    Warlock -> Circle Teleport
    Warrior -> Bladestorm

    You need to help with Freedom or Tiger's Lust: DK, Priest healers, Enh and Shaman heal, All tanks except druid and monk
    The raid lead should keep an eye on stacks. DBM has an info box. Just call out everyone over 40 stacks just to be safe.

    2. Intermission
    Put a mark on each side of the room and have someone call out where you guys run to

    3. Pillars
    Get some classes with good mobility to soak the 3 scales and activate the pillars. I use a rogue and two DH's.
    If they manage to clear everything, you're always left with 2 pillars that you can't attack. A bit more isn't the end of the world.

    4. Positioning
    Needless to say: Don't move too much. After each short intermission have everyone use a warlock portal to get closer to Wrathion. If you don't have one, just move 20-30m away from the ledge and make Wrathion walk the rest of the way.
    Each long intermission resets stacks, so don't worry at that point.

    5. Long fights
    If you ever approach the 10 minute mark with a few dead, don't heroism in the long intermission. 15~ stacks won't kill you faster than Wrathions enrage. Just hit it when he reappears, burn like crazy and cycle heal CD's.

    Get your selves a feral druid or guardian tank. Savage roar is a god send on this fight especially if you have alot of slower class's

    Other than that pack a few pala healers or priests for there help with freedom / life grip.

    This is mostly a movment fight, the swirls he spawns when he goes up one shot, being slowed to much at any point can become terminal quickly so most of the headache will be dealing with that, the rest can be handled with healer cd's

    Also have a couple fast class's run the scales.

    But like I said, this is the one fight where having a druid that can flex into feral for savage roar just out and out helps.

    Also don't fret the dps, he's not a dps check. Just do the mechanics, rinse and repeat and he should fall over.

    Gnome racial = useful on 1 boss
    Troll racial = useful on every boss

    Thank you all for the help. We ended up getting him in about 2 hours, and funnily enough on the kill we had 0 deaths somehow! You love to see it.

    Interestingly enough as kind of the exact opposite of that, on my guilds Jaina cutting edge kill. The entire raid was dead except for a druid in an iceblock. Dots ticked her down for the kill :P
