So if you're a black woman, you can create robots, but you can't be a playable character.

I'm joking, but it is funny that the only two black females we've seen so far have been ones that created robots; Orisa and Echo.

    Sojourn says hi
"May the way of the Hero lead to the Triforce"

"May the Goddess smile upon you."

"Hero", is what they've all been saying. This world, it isn't worth the saving."

Saying hi from the future? Last time I checked, she wasn't in game.

Edit: Yes, we have SEEN her. We've also seen at least 1 other unidentified female. I mean we have no playable one yet and this game has been out for many years now.

I think her creator is Chinese or at least Asian.

I don't think she looks overtly African, there are a couple of older (rt66 cinematic) shots that make her sort of look African.

The newer shots just make her look neutral to me. She doesn't really have strong African features I would say.
If anything the bridge of the nose and eyes are more asian than African to me. It almost looks like there is a hint of common "eyelid" that Asians share.

*continues to argue their point they apparently joked about*

Says Singaporean in the bio now, of course she could still be Chinese. Probably not though, because the rule of conservation of detail usually says that if a character is from country X, they are from the most prominent ethnic group in country X.

Symmetra creates robots, is black and is a playable character? Unless you mean "black" in the weird American sense of either "African American", or black African (which is another story entirely).

Also I don't think Mina is "black". Unless dark skinned Singaporeans count. Is she even intended to be dark skinned? I think it's just the lighting.

    Struggling to follow that logic.

Don't bring your race and gender agenda into video games, no one cares.

    People actually care about this?

Imagine unironically caring about how many white and black people exist in a video game made by someone else.

What black female created Echo? Because I only see an asian woman.

Symmetra says 'hi'? Or is she not black enough?

She's Indian. When is the last time you heard of someone Indian called black? Even stretching it to Census definition, she's an Asian.

Oh, you mean Blizzard's stance of trying to include all representations? Yeah, imagine that.

All that aside, yes, I misspoke and classified Echo's creator as black when she is really Asian. Sorry a little joke got so many people's panties in a twist over thinking it was humerus that another female robot creator was shown while black female, one major non-represented identities, still hasn't been represented in game.
