Those two actually looked like the type of people that would drink 23 cases of mountain dew in one day.

From a personal stance I feel it's incredibly immoral, but I'm fine with the current measures taken: fines and minor jail time depending on offense.

Also what is the most sickening display you have seen?
Luckily nothing myself, but I read on social media that people are lurking in parking lots and stealing from carts. Stay safe.
My governor this morning frankly said there is a special place in hell for people taking advantage of people during this pandemic including using this time for racist ideas (Asians are literally being physically attacked) and price gouging people.

I am glad I live Minnesota where the fucking stupidity level hasn't completely left people losing their minds, however we are pretty close with some. Honestly I think most big business that allow for it, ought to be fined, and it should be taken into consideration when offering government subsidies.

I've been working a bit, and since I am close to retiring in a few months, I am training in my replacements, but yeah, I would say the worst has been some malls and business's have had people literally asking to use the restroom to steal toilet paper supplies.

However, considering the hoarding and folks like these people in the Video, I kind of find it more understandable.
If people want to hoard, let them. It's a free country. If people.miss out, tough shit. You should've been more prepared. If stores want to restrict the purchase of items, they can. The only thing wrong in that video is the reaction to being told no.

People need to stop with the fake outrage. It isn't an issue. There will be more stock arriving. Just clam down.

hoarding like that IS immoral. price gauging and arbitration like that IS immoral. yes, they should be charged.

I haven't actualy seen people behaving badly personaly. but I saw the consequences of it when our supermarket had to place a limit of one cartoon of eggs per purchase. one. hubs and i between the two of us tend to go through just over 3 dozen eggs a week. we literally couldn't buy our normal weekly eggs, because people were stockpiling them of all things.

you can be prepared for some things, but if you like eating and cooking with fresh ingredients? you cannot (or at least shouldn't) buy more then you can eat in a period of time before they spoil. and yet... this is what people have been doing (not just with eggs, with most fresh produce) and it just makes my head hurt :/

I don't see anything wrong with hoarding and I also don't see anything wrong with putting limits on product purchases.

there are ahem *OTHER* reasons they DON'T need those cases of mountain dew. if you get my drift.

and then some elderly person or whatnot who actually NEEDS the product in question CAN'T GET IT because of 'people' like this. REALLY HELPFUL.

you do realize hoarding is also classified as a disorder? so no there is NOTHING healthy about it.

Always gotta be these edgelords unable to see why decent people might be angered at the thought of selfish idiots hoarding for no reason at all and possibly causing issues to other individuals in the process.

I had to run to 3 different stores to get toilet paper for my 82-year old great Aunt, in Sweden... SWEDEN, with all that land covered in pine forest!
If she hadn't had me, SHE would've been forced to do that round. Due to selfish asshats.

Like, I have a legitimate prescription for caffeine. Drinks are one of the most effective means of intake, because I can control the dosage so well; I need about 75mg of caffeine every 3-4 hours, give or take; it remains the best stimulant for managing my ADHD. Caffeine pills are generally 50/100mg; a 50mg pill isn't enough, a 100mg pill is a bit too strong. The pills also spike and fall off a lot more harshly, since the intake is all at once. So I drink Pepsi Max, which is 69mg/can of caffeine, and zero sugar/calories.

I could get by with coffee, but that just changes what product I need.

That all said, purchasing limits are totally fine and throwing a fit because you can't buy 23 cases is a shithead thing to do. So don't take any of the above as some kind of defense for the couple in the video.
I'm hopelessly addicted to Monster energy drinks for the same reason. I've had inattentive ADD since I was a kid. I could medicate with Adderal if I wanted but it's cheaper to just have a can of Monster in the morning on the way to work.

There's no need to horde that stuff when I can just get a monthly subscription from Amazon. Saves me money and I don't have to worry about not having it. Unless there's a shortage at some point due to the economy tanking, but I'll deal with that if it happens.

I'm all for it. I did my buying a month ago because I knew this is what would happen once the panic set in here.

Buying stuff because a pandemic is happening isn't the same as I've been collecting random crap my entire life and my house is filled to the ceiling with it.

I don't really give a fuck if people hoard nonessentials. It's the people buying out a lifetime supply of basic needs so they are depleted for regular folks who can't afford to stockpile that is really frustrating. No one needs that mountain dew, so while it is a jerk move to deny the people who enjoy mountain dew from getting a share, it's not the same level as the people who are buying out entire aisles of food and creating artificial shortages.

I'm really pissed off at the CVS I normally go to for my prescriptions. I normally get a 12 pack of double roll Charmin for me & my boyfriend every 3-4 weeks because that's how long it usually lasts us. I'm down to 4 rolls so I've started the search for toilet paper since its scarce everywhere because of the idiots. The CVS had ONE 4 pack when I got my meds a few days ago but they wanted freakin $8 for the 4 pack. I was like "um no because that's about double when you normally charge for it". if I didn't have to go to my doctors and get new prescriptions to take somewhere else I would switch pharmacies and do no business with them again. I just won't buy anything other than my meds from there from now on though.

I honestly think they should be charged when the courts open back up. Until then, ban them from the stores they've been going to.

I saw a woman with at least nine flats of 18-count eggs in her cart try to go through the cash register. They made her put back all but 3.
I mean... I do that about once a year too for my pickled eggs. When I get down to the last few massive pickle jars I run out and buy eggs in bulk then spend the day cooking and pickling them to enjoy throught the year.

Dude I kid you not, there was this couple here in Fresno that literally bought up ALL the meat from the store last week. Literally every single thing of meat the meat section had. The only thing they didn't buy up were in the frozen section packages of meat.

People sure like to blame the people who hoard essentials to themselves during a crisis, but not a word to all of the stores that allow them to buy so much in the first place. I have to give my kudos to this one for putting their foot down.

But really, they must have been a pair of serious hardcore gamers if they were buying that much Dew. One can only imagine what their gaming chairs look like.

So screw those who are working day and night in hospitals pulling double shifts to save lives right, they should just stop their work early so they can go shopping.

Shelves aren't filled instantly, defending anti-social behaviour so i am guessing you are one of those numpties that is doing that also.

23? I only see 6 large packs. I've seen people buy more drinks during normal times, I also don't classify pißwasser as a neccessity so I don't personally think this is a particularily egregious example. The video of the other bint that was dragging out 10+ packs of toilet paper is worse imho.
You are welcome, Metzen. I hope you won't fuck up my underground expansion idea.

I support anti-hoarding measures. The supermarket I go to already instituted purchase limits.

So people that hold on to money are unhealthy because they have a disorder?

    Your statement is inane.
