Haunted Mansion - What A Waste

Waycrest Manor was such a unique dungeon with really great models and even an amazing story behind it, why didn't they put a raid in Drustvar!

This is a completely personal thought, but it was a good dungeon full of undead things and it would have been amazing to see more of this. Agree?

there is a whole zone and a dungeon dedicated to this theme and a back story tied to the shadowlands, the death druids, war between original drustvar citizens of this place and kul tiras people. What more do you want? oO'

The art and general aesthetics of that instance was mindblowing, they could certainly have done a raid that featured multiple levels of mansion, cellars, caves etc. Loved the art in Drustvar alltogether, especially at night time the forest areas in that place look amazing.

I mean... it's literally just a mansion... There is only so much content you can fit in there. Especially since it was not a magical place like Karazhan.

I think Castle Nathria raid will have that gothic vibe.

think about it for half a secound what exactly would the raid entail after the 5man ? lady waycrests unknown up till this point summer house full of spoopier stuff she forgot about before we put her down?

spoopy manors make really good 5man's but there not big enough for proper raids to be set in. closest we got is kharazan but that was a trans dimensional mage tower following magic rules, and that had wierd room to out side scale issues.

also more people cheapens the atmosphere of such places.

For a second I thought this was about the Disney movie with Eddie Murphy, which is indeed a total waste aswell.

Because it was very clearly a side story to BfA's main plot. Raids are usually connected to bigger, over arching narratives.

Drustvar is best zone made since WotlK.

Agreed, and I agree with OP, at least a small raid with a few bosses would have been nice.

The two narratives with two separate islands kind of makes a lot of the story disconnected. As a Horde player, I have no idea what Azshara was up to and Alliance have no real reason to be in Uldir. Blizzard seems to be going even further with split narratives in Shadowlands with multiple covenants. I get that the "idea" is to get people to witness both sides of the story, but if you're staunchly one side, you'll not bother and this has been going on since Pandaria with each side experiencing a lot of major differences in overall plot depending on their side's viewpoint.

I see a ton of the videos pop up for Jaina and whatever on this site's auto player and have no idea what the context is as I haven't leveled an Alliance character since WoD.

Seems a little to similar to Karazhan to me, and they've already done the whole "undead in a mansion" theme there, so...

I started leveling an alliance char for the first time now, so I have yet to explore Dustvar in detail. I do agree on WM having nice visuals, BUT HELL, the camera distance inside those tight places is just killing me on the inside. Tol Dagor included....

I love Drustvar as a zone. But if we talk about wasted potential, I would have loved to See a Nerubian raid in WotLK and ever since ....

A raid in a haunted house..hm....while it sounds like a great idea...up to 30 ppl there...that would be messy....so 5 in a dungeon is kinda a good solution.

I have a feeling early on in development Drustvar was going to have a raid where we dealt with Gorak Tul for good, possibly with Waycrest Manor being it's start and leading into Thros through the basement rather than the stunted experience we got. But then they clearly changed their mind on the direction of the zone and decided to have that storyline wrap up with Jaina punking him in their first meeting and everything being hunky dory afterwards.

You will be happy to hear that the first raid in Shadowlands is basically Dracula's Castle.
