Why is women's underwear so much smaller and tighter than men's?

Other than sexiness reasons for porn and sexual arrousal, why does women's underwear looks so uncomfortable, and offers so little protection from sweat and smell in general?

Ouch. I had to go through this talk with one of my quasi-adoptive daughters. Her usual idea of dressing up was putting on tidier jeans, but she had to wear something for a fancy business mixer and ended up selecting a very clingy sheath dress that was going to suffer badly from panty lines. That had to be explained, and resolved ... which led people in the store to think very bad thoughts about the elderly foreigner helping the less than half his age Chinese girl shop for thong underwear.

So, why is some underwear form fitting? Panty lines or their equivalent, and commando isn't always an option.

It doesent remove the fact women underwear lacks the cup male underwears do. So is most of their pants cut much different because 99.9% of the wearers will have smooth crouch lines hence their pants are cut the way they are. Just likes bras arent really made with men in mind, i mean men can still wear them.if they wish to.

First, we don't have genitalia on the outside that needs room and swings around and needs breathing room for comfort and temp control.
