Yes if biden somehow wins it or even goes down by <1% that probably bodes a massive swing election is happening and texas counts pretty fast so we could know pretty early if that is happening.

I was just thinking about this. Was going to be conspiratorial and say that maybe Melania had a body double at second debate too since she was wearing a mask, but after re-watching her at first and second debate and seeing closeup shot of her at second debate, I'm 100% certain she was there.

Different thing if you're suffering from covid effects and sitting indoors rather than suffering from covid effects and going to cold state outdoors.

Even with all of the utter improbable stuff we've had to put up with in 2020, I think Texas voting Biden would still be among the least likely things to happen.

It represents a positive trend in Texas, that's for sure... and hopefully one that will pay off for the democrats in 10 years or so. I think that's a far more realistic time frame, especially if they work at it within Texas itself.

If Texas flips blue, I really have absolutely no idea what the republicans are going to do, electorally. It's not like any classically blue states are showing any signs of turning red.

But I still think the focus needs to be on Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Ohio and the other swing states. Florida as well, just to keep it up in the air, but like I said I never have too high of hopes for Florida to not do the wrong thing in the end. Plus, if the Florida election comes down to a super tight race, Trump's asskisser Florida governor and his pending toadie for the Supreme court will likely be able to settle things in his favor in Florida proper, at least.

That's not even factoring in population growth. Cope.

Death toll going down after 1945 is thanks to the threat of nuclear war. It's literally not rocket science.

The margin of error for a model is subjective though. It depends on how a person wants to weigh probability which is not objective.

I'd say rocket science and nuclear weapons are rather intertwined, actually.

But again, by the most objective measure of peace (you know, actual death and suffering rather than hypothetical), I am correct. And note that I am not referring to the Post-WW2 era as "peaceful"...just that it illustrates how we're all in a comparatively better place when the euros have their toys taken away. That for all the proxy wars that the US and Soviet Union engaged in, they were still better adults in the room than eurotrash.

You can't be correct. It's (here we go again, hang on) literally subjective.

    a) Nations are less likely to engage in full scale wars on a global level due to the high likelihood of nuclear destruction
    b) The world at large was an extremely unstable place until World War II, which also coincided with the fall of colonialism/imperialism.
    c) Colonialism/Imperialism wasn't a concept exclusive to European nations.
    d) Whilst people aren't dying on a large scale, smaller and more unstable countries still have very serious issues.
    e) There is no expectation for the US to be peacemaking in such places - especially given how incompetent Trump is.
    f) This is exacerbated by the US only worsening matters by pushing perpetual regime changes.
    g) The Vietnam War, Gulf War I/II called. They wanted to ask what your take on peace was.
