I think this will have played out before the election.

Unfortunately this was bound to happen with #MeToo. The narrative will swing from one extreme to another and it will be used to bludgeon people that actually care about sexual assault survivors.

That's largely because the right wing--though certainly others as well--view any progress for women as a personal assault, as if it's a zero-sum game where extending a morsel of humanity to women somehow necessitates taking it away from men. Whenever women make gains, however slight, the outcry and hair-pulling about backlash and pendulums is pretty much instantaneous. In this case, the simple, perfectly reasonable, and long, long overdue call to hear accusers out rather than abuse and destroy them was immediately re-framed as a campaign to persecute innocent men, which was then naturally turned into cudgel against people who care about the issue, to be wielded by those who don't.

• Ford also went to the Washington Post. Where they investigated her claims and wrote it up. Keeping her name anonymous.
• The Senator asked to have the FBI also investigate and corroborate Ford's story.
• Someone at DoJ then leaked Ford's name to Grim.
• All Grim did is out Ford by name. Exposing her to countless threats and more harassment.
• Which lead to the rushed hearings.
• Which helped MccConnel to play hide the witness and ratfuck the rest of the hearings.
• Remember, Grim works for the same Intercept that has a bad habit of outting people like Reality Winner.

His answer indeed won't make everyone happy/mad. But, taking a queue from Warren, it will get the issue out and done with before the convention. The GOP, if they engineered this whole thing, fucked up in dropping it this early. If Biden can answer it effectively, come September, it will be "asked and answered" for him on this topic. And if he's smart, he will admit that an investigation should take place. And then change the subject.

I am unsure why these Obama-stans are still slavishly into the ACA and touting affordability, like, you know what's more affordable for the masses? Free! Universal Healthcare is free; no paperwork, no means testing marketplace, no premiums, no co-pays, no deductibles, just go to your doctor, get treated, go home and forget about it. I reiterate, Establishment Democrats and those that stan them have a fetish for bureaucracy, fees and means testing.
