Looks like Biden might win Delaware county, something no Dem has managed since 1916.

I have no idea if this is true, or where that is, btw, just read it on NYTs page. It's supposed to be a 'Rep stronghold'... made for an interesting read.

Really wish they wouldn't color in states below a certain % reporting. Like Maine. 87% Trump but with 0.2% reporting? Meaningless. I still stand by my earlier comments that ME-2 is a toss up because it is the South of the North. But it shouldn't be shaded in yet.

One day after this election is over I am going to write a piece about how Latino is a contrived ethnic category that artificially lumps white Cubans with Black Puerto Ricans and Indigenous Guatemalans and helps explains why Latinos support Trump at the second highest rate. People are consistently surprised by how Latinos trail only white voters in their support for Trump, but this is simply an unsophisticated understanding of the Latino as a category created by white po. Do white Cubans as a group identify naturally identify w Mexicans in camps? I’ve studied and traveled to Cuba, the DR and Brazil, and trust me, all these former slave societies suffer racial divisions and racial hierarchies based on whiteness but when they come to the US we suddenly tell them they are all part of a single “minority” group. Nope.
She's not even wrong. The category of Hispanics is wide and varied and there are in fact major racial tensions between fairer skinned residents of central/south america and the Caribbean. Not that that's why Trump Republicans have a major advantage among hispanics in Florida, it more has to do with the fact that they are from Cuba and afraid of the communist boogeyman so they tend to vote right wing regardless of how much it fucks them in the ass.

Growing up in a mixed community, I wouldn't even know the hispanics in it were hispanic if I hadn't known their parents emigrated from central and south america. They looked just as light as any european caucasian. Then I did a lot of work in Central and South America. There are very harsh racial divides in many of those countries, along with racial tensions. I can't tell you if the tiny gains in Florida had anything to do with those racial tensions from hispanic countries carrying over to the US, but I can tell you her post isn't inaccurate or that worthy of derision.

Quick question, why is Maine split in 2, and Nebraska in 3, if I see that correctly?

Florida is predictably red, meaning this is hinging on the Great Lakes, Ohio and PA for Biden. I don't believe in Georgia or Arizona for him.

Ohio looks really good for Biden so far in particular. There's absolutely nothing to celebrate thus far obviously, as North Carolina shows the election is still very much a toss-up.

Red. And people freaking out over places like FL, NC, and OH possibly going red need to chill. He basically has Wi and MI, he only needs to win one of basically PA, or AZ to win.

Not all states bind all their electors to state vote totals. Those two do it by disctrict.

They're the two states that have laws that split their electoral votes along congressional districts, minus two votes that go to whomever wins the state popular vote.

So early indications are both candidates are winning where they are expected to win but Biden should win enough swing states to seal it?
