This was supposed to be a slam dunk, a landslide, a clear victory.

We've been told for months how suburban voter will swing everything from Georgia to maybe Texas. How Biden is so much more electable than Sanders or Clinton. How just winding back the clock to 2015 is what will carry the day! Etc.

Well...here we are, in the verge of a 2nd Trump term.

Maybe Dems just aren't that popular, be it the centrist or leftist kind. /shrug

If you’re just scanning the AP tallies and see these 100k+ margins in trumps favor, without the context of mail in or other ballots, then it’s pretty easy to get spooked.

That coupled with the rust belt being red right now. People keep forgetting WI, MI, PA are the slowest to tally mail in votes and this year mail in votes are skewing crazy heavy to Dems. Not saying that 100% Biden will win, or lose, but it is a little disheartening that it isn’t going to be the beat down the country needed to start to cleanse itself.

Nah. I can tell you that there's been a growing divide between younger black voters and the DNC. Now that doesn't mean those voters went red like Trump wants to say, but it means they've become more and more disillusioned with the party. Republicans do a good job of playing on colorism and ethnocentrism among Hispanics - see wheres immovable communities full of Republican Hispanics in FL and the Southwest.

Biden is up 5-10 with white voters and suburban voters.

There are 2.6 million mailed votes but I assume some have already been counted.

If, say, 3/4ths of them have already been counted, Biden would need a ridiculously high percent of what's left to take Pennsylvania.

Umm I thought very few had been counted?

Since the republicans had prevented votes being pre-screened (removed from envelopes and flattened) and that's why its going to take until Friday to count them all.

Well, we have no way of telling because Dems keep insisting on losing by running centrists. That's the pickle here. The centrist shtick didn't work in 2016 and it's still not working.

they're at like 10% maybe of mail in ballots counted so far by the sound of it. they're actually behind what they were expecting to be at by like 25k.

There was a german movie a few years back, based on a novel, called 'Guess who's back!'. It 'stars' Adolf Hitler, waking up in mid 2010 Berlin. Everybody thinks he's an actor, a comedian, whatever, only the reader/the audience knows it is actually him. The movie went further than the book, recording real reactions of people to someone who pretended to actually be Adolf Hitler, uniform and all. One prominent part had them interviewing members of the NPD, Germany's far-right wing party. A party official said, after asking for the cam to be turned off, 'You know, if you were the real one, I'd follow you.'

These people are cowards in public. If they think they are observed, they tuck their tail in between their legs and run. You have to get them comfortable to show their true colors. Voting anonymously is one thing, being asked by someone, a stranger, is a completely different beast.
