AP calling it, it's pretty safe. NYT and CNN won't call it to try to remain impartial towards the president's push against his fake news agenda.

By Yahoo and Fox News, but that was back when everyone thought 98% of the vote was in, instead of 86%, because someone was holding the tally upside down I'm guessing. That means there's 500-600k more votes to be counted, and if they skew to the right (which they can) Biden might be in trouble.

If Dems waste another 4 years on going after Trump's tax returns or screaming about Russia, then there is no hope for the party.

Well... except for hiring an AG who will actually do what he's supposed to do.

That'd be a nice first step.

Winners and losers from 2020's election

    Winners
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)

But the sweeter success for McConnell came in the broad resilience of Senate Republicans.

GOP senators who were widely considered in grave peril, most notably Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, prevailed. So too did Sens. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Steve Daines (R-Mont.), who were among top Democratic targets.
    -----
    House Republicans
wasn't just Republicans in the upper chamber who had a good night. The same was true in the House, where several endangered GOP members, especially in suburban areas, held onto their seats.

Democrats look set to retain their House majority but Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) hopes of further cushioning her advantage appeared to be in vain.
    ----
The pollsters who stood out from the crowd

It was a bad night for pollsters as a whole - but some who were at odds with the consensus have been vindicated.
    ----
    Lawyers

The Trump campaign's legal moves, if pursued, could prolong the election fight for days or weeks - and make the names of hitherto obscure election lawyers in the process.
    -----
    Losers

    Most pollsters

For the second presidential cycle in a row, pollsters were left red-faced by a series of embarrassing misses.
After 2016, pollsters insisted that they had improved their methods. Now, they face a whole raft of new questions.
    ----
    Democratic congressional leaders

Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) had expected to strengthen their respective positions. Instead - to just about everyone's shock - they emerged weakened.

This will have been a particular blow to Schumer, who saw his chances of becoming majority leader slip away. The Democratic performance in the House will be a big disappointment to Pelosi too.
    -----
    Democratic donors

Democrats enjoyed big fundraising advantages, but their donors didn't seem to get much bang for their buck.
Yet even if Biden wins in the end, it will likely be with the narrowest Electoral College margin since at least 2004.

It was a similar story in Senate races. In South Carolina, Graham was outraised by Harrison by an eye-popping $30 million in the third quarter, yet the Republican appears to have won by double digits. Amy McGrath outraised McConnell by more than $32 million in the Kentucky Senate race on her way to a heavy defeat.
    -----
    National unity

The United States was deeply polarized before and during the presidential campaign. It would be fanciful to think those wounds would have been bound up if Biden had won a more clear-cut victory.

The actual result, however, seems like the worst possible outcome on that score.

They're waiting for the dump in Maricopa at 9 to verify Trump isn't running +30. That's literally the only way he can win AZ.

It will be called almost immediately after the dump.

You think so? Fuck. That's pretty damn depressing. It shouldn't even be close. 4 years of Trump has shown more than enough. But I guess politics is just sports over the pond. Or circus. Sigh...

Maybe we should all start intervening on US elections, so they don't fuck it up for themselves. And for the rest of us.

Looks like the gap in GA just shrunk to 45K with more than that to go.

once again, though... unless he gets some sort of cease and desist... they'll be finished counting the votes, no matter the result, far before any legal action can be taken.

unlike republicans, dems can walk and chew gum at the same time. Besides with gop looking to hold the senate, not much to do after Biden revokes all of trump's executive orders, and the house just needs to resend whats already on mitches desk in the new session, while making very loud noise about the covid relief and such bills be REsent to mitch

It's down to a 212k difference in PA, still with 11% left to count.

If Biden wins, I think it'll look pretty bad for the GOP senate if house democrats say "we have this stimulus set up to be sent out to the American people, and Biden has said he's ready to sign it, but McConnell just wont look at it!"

With this rest of votes need to be at least close to 66% in favor of Biden for him to win PA. Which counties are left?

Arizona: Biden currently leads here by 93,518 votes, but there are around 600,000 left to count, according to the Arizona Republic. About 450,000 of those are in Maricopa County, which says it will release two batches of results tonight: one at 9 p.m. Eastern and one sometime after 12:30 a.m. Eastern. Some outlets, such as Fox News, have already projected Arizona for Biden, but our colleagues at ABC News have not yet done so.
