Dude, I say this as a major Bernie supporter and someone who wrote his name in in the 2016 after what Clinton pulled but in 2020, Biden won that one fair and square. While Bernie might be the more popular one, it doesn't matter when the people stay home. That is one of the big problems with beating Republicans now (On top of their cheating) while they are the minority overall and their opinions aren't popular they come out to vote near religiously and are so devout they don't care who they vote for so long as they "R" is there. They voted for a dead pimp over a Democrat and a known pedophile.

If Bernie makes it to the election, I would vote for him in an instant, but until the his supporters and the Democrats start getting more motivated to come out, it won't matter.

I greatly used to think that a huge part of the reason why people didn't vote was because they had no options, that was why I didn't vote till 2016. But when they had the option, they stayed home anyways. So, that kinda fell flat.

About the only way to really start addressing this is when you see someone complaining, ask who they voted for, if they say they didn't vote, you tell them then they have nothing to complain about because they didn't care when it mattered.

actually if you adjust for income differences its not as bad as it seems on the surface.
People assume CA is so freaking bad, but if you adjust for income their taxes do not end up even in the top 10.

it does however hurt anyone below middle class from ever getting homes in a bunch of states.

Property taxes aren't the issue. Property taxes keep property prices down (the higher the property tax the lower the property price all other things being equal).

The problem is zoning laws that make it very hard for new housing to be built, and that the cost of debt for the wealthy is very very low meaning its easy for them to borrow huge amounts and pump it into property to rent seek off of the average citizen. That in turn pumps up property prices as you are not only competing with someone who wants to own their own home but also wealthy individuals who want to turn you into an income stream.

I am stating an opinion, based on the evidence I have seen. You disagree that's cool. It is pure speculation.

But, you have to admit there is something wrong when both Bernie supporters think that promoting his policy will be a win, while Trump also believes promoting Bernie having those policies would be a win for him. You have to admit that is at least an awkward position... one of those has to be horribly wrong and Trump is performing very well.

No cabinet appointees.
No budgets.
No stimulus.
No bail outs.
No job protections.
No funding for cities.
No funding for vaccinations.
No police reform.

Nothing.

The only way they can hope to do anything is to very aggressively campaign from now till the midterms with the aim to dislodge the GOP from the senate.

Whether that can happen or not 100% depends on who does a better job at convincing the public on who is to blame for the damage that has already been done and that will be done in the next 2 years.

And historically the GOP has always been much much better at that than the democrats.

Even if Biden takes the White House, anyone thinking that the fight is over, is fucking stupid.

Even if Trump is removed, he will be the shadow king maker/shot caller of the GOP for the foreseeable future.

Part of that is skewed from states voting in the midterms that will never vote for a Democrat in the general. There should be a points system based on state voting record or something.
