Faithless electors can come from any state. WA voted for Colin Powell, instead of Hillary, so the conservative flip... even in a very blue state... is not unprecedented. Although, that was a protest vote, not one swinging to opponent.

Saying this... no fucking way he would dare... people will justifiably hit the streets.

Well, it doesn't look like 1 or 2 faithless voters would matter. Even if it did, we already have a Supreme Court ruling against them. So not a likely avenue for Trump. It looks like a 306/232 win. That is well outside the range of faithless voters being an issue. It is also too much to close with litigation.
