95% is the standard. With the sheer number of votes in Georgia they could hit 95% without issue. However, as that article states, this seems more like a test run with small hundreds as opposed to large hundreds/a thousand.

The gap only closed by 5,578 votes, with another 11,148 counted. Which is the pace Biden needs, but just barely. This is going to be absurdly close. Probably in the range where a Recount does actually matter, and late mail in ballots likely will as well.

Oh my my. Unfortunately history disagrees with all this. Companies used to straight up own people. Take a look at the Industrial Revolution, read Sinclair's "The Jungle". Strikes used to get put down by militaries, and had death tolls in the hundreds or thousands.

None of this is excusing anything, but the wealthy class kicking in the teeth of the majority of the population is not a modern phenomena.

Not quite 1000s in the US. Largest strike death count was possibly a bit over 100. There were 1000s of participants in that strike (battle of blair mountain), but not thousands of deaths. Ludlow was another infamous strike where mine owners killed workers, but it was a relatively small affair (still spooky to visit the massacre site though).

Depends enormously on the industry. I work in power generation, and our safety standards are 1 major failure in 1 million cycles for standard operations. Depending on the application, it can be more or less then that, depending on the cycle time. If we are dealing with casing or exhaust temperatures, you just need to be broadly in the ballpark, if you are dealing with rotor blade clearance, you need things pretty much with microns, and failure rates absurdly near zero (Since nobody likes supersonic chunks of steel ripping buildings apart).

Moderate Democrats are already yelling at party leaders that they need to push the left out of the party because progressives somehow caused moderate Democrats to lose their elections, not moderate Democrats themselves, even though progressive Democrats won their elections.

All I'm asking for is for Democrats to just grow a crumb of self awareness and responsibility and blame themselves when they lose their own elections, not progressives. If Joe Biden can be called a socialist and it sticks, literally any Democrat can be called a socialist and have it stick, it literally doesn't matter. Trying to kick the left out of the party because you think they're making you lose elections will not fix this.

The only 2 Democratic candidates that won in Florida were the only 2 Democratic candidates that supported the proposition to raise the minimum wage to $15, the rest rejected it at the behest of corporate donors and lost.

Judge orders further sweeps of Postal Service facilities for undelivered ballots

A federal judge ordered the Postal Service on Thursday to continue its sweep of mail facilities to check for undelivered ballots in states that have extended vote delivery deadlines, such as North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan of Washington, D.C., ordered the sweeps to continue until the end of the day Friday to ensure that all the mailed ballots are counted. The order, the result of a lawsuit brought by voter advocacy groups, is intended to mitigate concerns that a number of ballots in the Postal Service's care potentially were not delivered.

Concern was raised Wednesday about ballots that were scanned into the Postal Service system but did not get outgoing scans. The agency said that in an attempt to deliver the ballots more quickly, it bypassed the outgoing delivery scan in some cases.

Mail employees would often pull the ballots from being processed so they could deliver them directly to boards of elections.

Honestly there's a tremendous mood shift since he just spoke. I think people see that he's defeated. He had no energy, no swagger, no anger. He only vaguely muttered about stolen votes and protecting the integrity, etc., but there was no conviction there.
