Almost makes me wish that we didn't need to wait until the end of January to swear in Biden- like boot Warchief Tangerine out, do the official swearing in now and use the inauguration as a ceremonial gesture. Probably go on a pardoning spree. It's not uncommon for Presidents to do that - Obama did IIRC - but of course, most Presidents wouldn't be looking to pardon themselves.

I'm not too worried about the lame duck trump. McConnell doesn't have any financial interest in him burning the country down. He just wants to get judges in that will halt progress and give his wealthy donor's money. btw his biggest donors is the Big Pharma. So.... when they repeal ACA yeah we're in trouble.

Well, in this election there's at least a possibility that some people voted early and then died. I don't know whether they should be counted, and even in normal elections someone could be run over by a bus when walking out from the polling place.

However, a rough calculation says that it's perhaps 10k persons; and spread over all states, even if all in one state it doesn't seem enough to change anything even if they all voted for one candidate (and it's not clear who they voted for).

Here's the problem with the "rebrand socialism" talking point.

Socialism was already rebranded. It used to mean "collective ownership of the means of production". Now it means "any and all social support systems that aid those in need".

And the carry-over McCarthyism from the first bit, as an over-reaction to the Soviets, has been applied to the latter.

Anything you try and "rebrand" is just going to get called "socialism", because that's the way the right wing McCarthyists respond to everything that helps those in need. A lunch program at your local school? Socialism. A city-wide 5k to raise funds for a new homeless shelter? Socialism. And so on. You can't re-brand, when the entire issue is that everything helpful to anyone in need is already being actively re-branded as socialism, in the first place.

The secret is that the issue isn't actually socialism. The issue is that the McCarthyists are narcissistic misanthropists who see the fostering of human suffering as a net positive.

Remember how your parents called ALL consoles "Nintendo"? Right now, that's "Socialism" to conservatives for anything to the left of hunting the homeless for sport.

They knew that from 2016, they were supposed to adjust for it. I think it boils down to both Trump and Biden got more Non-Voters to vote this year. Honestly I've never gotten a call, but I would probably be honest. I can see people who hate Pollsters choosing to lie to try and help Trump or simple because they don't trust them. I want to see the how far off the national polls were. Also to see what roll non-voters played and how they helped either Biden and Trump.

Its looking like the national polls will be within the MoE., just like in 2016. In about 2-3 weeks we will see a complete picture of the variation on a state by state level.
