...but when I investigated more, I found out that there are multiple grifting schemes, not just the 5% one for the RNC, but yes, in fact, a 50% one for recount fees.

This is all Doom and Gloom. Republican incumbents apparently almost always gain support. If he hadn't screwed up COVID, he would've won this election. Can we agree on that? Then look at this. I looked back at history to see how incumbent Republicans faired in their re-election. I went all the way back to Eisenhower, and here is what I see:

Bush Sr (1992) -25% votes (Loss)

Eisenhower (1964) +4.23% votes (Won)

Trump (2020) +11% votes (Loss)

Reagan (1984) +19% votes (Won)

Bush Jr (2004) +18.6% votes (Won)

Nixon (1972) +32.6% votes (Won)

Bush Sr is the only main outlier here and that was due to a third party run that siphoned off a lot of his vote.

If History over the last 100 years has anything to say about it, as long as Trump isn't on the ballot in 2024, the Republicans will see a major drop in support in 2024.

But that is the problem, isn't it? DT is not a normal president, he hijacked the Republicans, he doesn't respect democracy, rule of law, or anything other than his personal gain, yet Democrats stuggled to even gain the presidency, they were unable to gain the majority in the Senate and even lost seats in Congress.

All I'm saying for all their big talk, Democrats failed again to take this election seriously, and the US citizens will be paying the price for that in the next four years.

I likely did not post about this before in any thread but I knew it. I knew if Dems one majority it would at least have to be plus 1 majority because of Manchin.

Also we had a thread about Pelosi and her bold 100 days (doubt it) and my comment on Dems doing bold vote protection and access to voting. Will be interesting to see how many Dems get on board for any major progressive movement.

Some people find this harrowing or discouraging to have people at such a high level of governance saying these kinds of things. In a sense, I find it the opposite.

Despite the attempts at voter suppression, despite the lawsuits, despite the refusal to admit defeat... it doesn’t matter. Biden still won. Biden will still become president.
