Women accused him of making inappropriate comments about her breasts when she was 14. She had tons of friends and folks to corroborate her claims. She was also, conveniently, the niece of one of Biden's former Republican challengers in the Senate.

Weeeeelllllllll....there were problems. Like the fact that Biden wasn't at the dinner in 2008 where she alleged he made the comments. His schedule placed him in another state. So she said, "Well maybe it was 2007 and I was 13!" and...well...he wasn't at that dinner either. And his schedule also placed him in another state.

As fucking awful as these fake allegations are and as harmful as they are to actual victims, I'm hoping this leads to a bit of a maturation for the MeToo movement and progressives on the issue. Because yes, we should believe all women, but that doesn't mean that we should blindly believe all women or that their allegations are all equal. Because, clearly, they're not. We should treat them all seriously, and investigate them seriously, and if there's credible evidence we can move on from there. If there's not, then fuck these people.

Which is why, for example, seeing Reade compared to Ford drives me up a fucking wall. Ford had 4 sworn affidavits corroborating her story. That doesn't mean it's inherently true, but that's huge because it means that all four people would go to jail if they were lying. She also testified, under oath, in front of Congress. Which also comes with heavy penalties if she lied.

So no, Reade and Fords accusations aren't the same. There wasn't the same level of investigative reporting into Reade before she went public with her allegations as there have been for other women. I don't even think Reade lawyered up like Ford and other women have. Each individual issue isn't enough to really call her claims into question, but put together, especially with the further context of the multiple women to have levied politically motivated false allegations against Biden recently, they do call her story into question. Not that "nothing happened", as there was clearly something going on that made her uncomfortable (which jives with Biden being creeper), but her latest account of events.

There's been tons of investigation into Reade's story.
The AP, Vox, and the Union were in contact with her for over a year.

Ryam Grim/ Katy Halper/ Nathan Robinson "reported" that other news orgs were ignoring Tara.

• They either repeated the lie willfully, for clicks.
• Did not verify contact or the brush off Tara got from other news orgs. They ignored basic due diligence.
• They ignored her inconsistencies, or coached her on changing her and witness stories.

People need to stop confusing twitter propaganda with actual journalism.
Same people need to stop confusing populism with progressivism.

And I'll drop this here for anyone interested in a long, pretty in-depth look at the Reade allegations going back to 2019 when she made her first round of allegations.

TLDR: There's no conclusive proof that she's being truthful. There's also no conclusive proof that she's lying. And conclusive proof is going to be insanely difficult to find. Right now, it's a muddy, messy situation mired in confusion and uncertainty and isn't a remotely straightforward affair.

Her story has been vetted by the same people who vetted Fords claim, and if I recall she has more people she has told over the years who confirm the story she has told. So you either believe this is a 20 year conspiracy or you think a handful of people are part of some secret plot.

Ford had 3 signed affidavits, Reade has 0. Ford retained a lawyer and spoke under oath, in front of a grand jury, Reade has not. He doesn’t have to believe it’s a conspiracy, because there is no hidden record to conspire in hiding. Reade no longer claims that there is a written complaint.
