Here's the reality about Georgia: It's been a Republican stronghold for many years. It flipped blue for Biden, but just barely. A huge number of those voters are people who HATE Trump but still swing Republican and will likely vote for Republican Senators still. "Getting money for free from the government" is probably one of the last thing Republicans want hanging in front of themselves. The Republican candidates will likely scream socialism and win. You can't appeal to people who swing right with free money for covid relief, and I wouldn't really blame democrats if they lost.

If anything, these senate races will show how much of a miracle it was that Biden even won the state. I could be wrong and Democrats may win the seats, but I think that now that the general election is over, the people who wanted Trump out are done with elections, and the blue vote is going to be much more insignificant in runoffs. That's just how things swing in red states.

How about getting your job back because a functioning government can build a system to help businesses reopen?

You can't get back to work if there aren't jobs for you, and even if there is a job, you are stuck at home helping your kids with online school.

Economic stimulus is needed. It is PROVEN that for every dollar spent on economic stimulus to the individual, more than a dollar in economic activity is generated. You give me 1200 to do whatever I want and expand unemployment to cover my lost wages 100%, I'm going out and buying a new TV and supplies to build myself a badass desk for my battlestation, and getting back on track with bills that I have out into forebearance. That employs cashiers and salespeople at local businesses, keeps the finance industry that underwrites so much of the US economy moving smoothly, and if everyone does basically the same thing with their money, that grows the WHOLE economy, creating jobs for people like me who are out of work with minimal prospects (and FAR more applicants than available jobs, even in my field [IT support]).


And that says nothing of providing funding for increased testing and sanitation/ventilation in the places that HAVE to be open for the economy to function, like schools, grocery stores, etc.

We actually agree on democrat sucking at marketing but you are acting like this is a regular election cycle my point was they had 4 years of Trump marketing too if that didn't move them to act nothing would have. I don't think it's education or information some people don't care because of the electoral college, whoever is president doesn't matter to them etc.

If these people weren't really voting before they were non political as you said they really weren't going to start no matter what. I can think of a number of elections before this where they should have voted 2008 Obama for example. If it's the people we are both thinking of I can't think of a single thing that would make them vote every election they tell me they would only to find some reason not to bother.

I believe the pima drop already happened it was basically 50/50. I think there is a mericopa drop happening tonight and maybe one more but there just are not enough ousttanding votes to matter. Biden is ahead by 11k ish and there are only 16k ballots remaining.

Edit correction after pima drop only 13k votes remaining. Trump to catch up basically has to win like 90% of everything left.

Virtue signal, and actively fight for, are 2 very different things.

Also to be clear, raising the minimum doesn't necessarily mean livable. Minimum would need to be like $23 dollars in San Diego to be livable.

Ok here is a more nerdy approach.

There are two phrases that democrats are opposed to.

1) Defund the Police - The origins of this phrase is that it was used when white cops shot and killed yet another black American. The phrase "Defund the Police" can go, but only when it is replaced by something that means clamping down on white cops killing blacks, on white traffic cops letting whites go by at 95 mph in order to stop a black going 75, and on whites giving leniency to whites that use drugs (don't want to ruin his life) while cracking down on blacks that use drugs (THROW THE BOOK AT HIM, DO THE TIME DO THE CRIME). White rapist - ITS HER FAULT FOR LOOKING HOT. Black rapist - WHAT AN ANIMAL, LOCK HIM UP EVEN IF SOMEONE ELSE REALLY DID IT.

Much of the problem here really is corrupt police officers. When Mnuchin say how much he supports the police, it almost sounds like he is very ok with white officers just killing blacks for the sheer joy of killing. Because the officers sure do seem to enjoy their shots taken at blacks - 9 shots, 15 shots taken? Replace the slogan fine, but only when you have one to replace it with. Pick whatever slogan you want to, but action on this absolutely HAS to be taken.

"Defund the Police" is responsible for some of the 72 million Trump supporters, but it is also responsible for some of the 77 million Biden supporters. Blacks came out in record numbers for Biden. Defund the Police is one of the reasons that Biden - and the two democratic Senator candidates - got so many votes in Georgia. And, I agree that it also is responsible for many of the Trump supporters. It can be argued that it increased Biden turnout more than Trump turnout.

Personally I don't care about the slogan. I care about getting some action on this very important item. Supporting Black Lives Matters issues is one of my more important priorities. And yes, action on Black Lives Matters issues WILL trigger people like Mnuchin regardless of HOW we phrase it.

Socialist: Get used to it. If you believe campaign information... misinformation, Biden himself is a radical left wing socialist with a history of ultra-left activism. Republicans will throw the socialist word around every election moving forward. There is no where to run from this label, and no where to hide. Yes it will motivate some people to vote against democrats. We need to show results from the socialist programs that we implement in order to get even more votes for us. After all, by the US definition of socialist, both Social Security and Medicare are socialist programs.
