Well, mostly, yes. The Party of Trump is currently in control. A lot of Republicans have pulled a @Skroe and bailed, others are saying things like "Trump is an embarrassment, he lost". Most, yes, are in the Party of Trump by staying silent -- that's being complicit -- or those few who are actively backing him. Like the QAnon one and...um...er...hmm. But yeah, silence is acceptance.

Ron Klain on CNN ... sounds like he’s talking himself into a lawsuit to force GSA’s hand.

I hope KAren at GSA enjoys a hot cup of Contempt of Court if it goes that way.

It's something that will probably need it's own thread. But the current media model skews towards "access journalism", relying on leaks from "friends" in an administration. It was a technique that really took off when W Bush was pushing the Iraq War.

Also, that beltway pundits get hostile to administrations that don't provide to them cozy leaks or cocktail dinners.

Also, lesson is the noun form of learning.
Yes could be its own thread.

So is this journalism doing the both sides again? We joke about 2016 til now that we had to go to rural X to see why they voted for Trump. Not being a journalist but yes trying to understand and solve a problem is noble.

My both sides argument is why do they deserve a platform. Seems 4 years leading up to now they support fascism and not our Constitution. I have seen way more news about the anti-Constitution side than other.

As far as Axios self evaluation, again seems they are going in circles. If they are focusing on rural its they Hate the changing demographics and people actually want to move to a big city. Rural areas are so monolithic in being white and Christian that they are in a bubble. Most everything is based on ignorance of not living with people who are 'different' from them.

Socialism??? Haha! Code again for racism and what not. I posted and others on confusion how Biden and Democrats are socialist. Maybe my bubble but in no way will socialism take a big hold in the US.

The effin Defund the Police was rebuked by Biden and almost every Democrat. This is messy yet again I'm sorry this has alot of ant-black rhetoric to it. At least the understanding that black people are policed not the same.

    Pundit priorities are basically:
    1. In-class solidarity with other pundits. Weighted to pundits with more twitter followers than investigative journalists.
    2. Aspirational class solidarity with celebrities or office holders.
    3. Race based solidarity with Cletus in Trump Country.

Interviewing Church going African Americans in the South or Urban Midwest just falls out of their purview.

I want to focus on the last point Axios tried to make, there, for a second.

They're trying to say the Democrats fucked up by not realizing how much Americans get upset by socialism and police reform.

What they're actually talking about is how large a percentage of Americans are willfully ignorant rubes who've bought a line of propaganda without ever once engaging their brains. That these people applaud and support the brutalization of black Americans by the hands of the police, on their behalf. These people are ignorant. They are racist. And they are fascists.

We should be maligning and condemning them, mocking them for being so fucking gullible that they fall for obvious lies every time. If they constitute a large enough population within the USA to effectively control politics, your country's already in its death throes. There's no recovering from a democratic electorate that is more swayed by propaganda and bigotry than truth and empathy. Not while keeping yourself whole, at least.

Well, this. Axios is trying to both sides this again, when only one side is willing to listen to science (among a crap ton of other things). That cletus in Bumfuck nowhere is too stupid to use his/her brain's higher functions to filter out/debunk right wing propaganda is not an indictment on democrats and their continual quest to try to bring your country to the 21st century. It's a condemnation on them.
These people should not be so fucking stupid and/or racist to believe that the fucking democrats are socialists... And they should pick a book other than the bible to read about what socialism actually is, because trying to unfuck the enviroment is not that.

Point of order; they should read the Bible to read about what socialism is, because what Jesus preached was, pretty much, straight socialism. Support the poor, rich people are guaranteed a trip to hell because being rich is evil, do unto others as you'd have them do unto you, all that stuff they like to ignore. Let's recall that in the list of "what would Jesus do", spending an afternoon braiding a whip so you can beat the shit out of bankers for exploiting people is something that's famously on that list.

I've been an atheist for decades, but I was raised Anglican, and considered going to seminary. The problem with these fuckos is that they haven't read their own Bible.

This is the heart of the issue. Was in 2106 and now it at a whole new level. The frikin US President is a) saying our election is not legit and b) trying to overthrow the election.
Yes, and far as I recall from what was published Russia in 2016 weren't primarily interested in a Trump presidency, but in undermining the US populations trust in democracy, and a non-Hillary president.

Thus they have this time been able to sit back and enjoy the show.

Look, it's this simple: if you can prove fraud in court, do it. You've got plenty of chances, as we've seen.

If you can't prove it, okay, I get the idea of calling for a recount or investigation, if there's probable cause. QAnon conspiracy theories are not probable cause.

If you can't prove it, and your investigation fails and/or you can't start one because you don't have cause, if you steal the election, the fraud is you.

"We think there was fraud so we declare Trump the winner" is the opposite of democracy. Americans should not tolerate it -- even if their side lost.

This comes from NBC's roliing news tracker, the link won't be helpful.

Trump camp keeps up torrid pace of fundraising appeals post-election
WASHINGTON — The Trump campaign has sent more than 300 fundraising appeals via email since Nov. 4, the day after the election. Most are seeking donations for an “official election defense fund,” as President Trump continues to question the integrity of the race he lost. But the fine print shows as much as 75 percent of that money can be repurposed for the president’s new leadership political action committee, “Save America.”

Two weeks ago, the GOP effort was sending as many as 24 emails a day, averaging one per hour. More recently, the campaign — which formally ended as a re-elect operation this week — has been requesting funds around 15 times on any given day.

In that time, they have also fired off more than 80 text messaging, ranging from personal appeals from the president that falsely claim “the Left will try to STEAL this Election!” to messages from the eldest Trump sons saying “We need to FIGHT BACK!”
Yep, Trump's still paying himself by "donations to the legal fund". Didn't he brag about being a billionaire? What's Bubba Bo Jeb Bubba's $1 got that's more important than Trump's self-proclaimed TEN BILLION DOLLARS! Isn't Trump at risk of being jailed if he leaves the WH? Yes yes I know it's a con, but why aren't the people being conned asking these questions?

Yeah, analyses of Democrats' supposed "weaknesses" really should take this into account.

The only meaningful thing that i can take from said image is that house Dems have a huge handicap against them. Gerrymandering is awful ffs.

So uh...Rudy's kid, who works in the White House, has covid.

Wonder if that's why Rudy was so sweaty yesterday?

Speaking of Rudy Giuliani, seems like he's picked up the habit of discussing how people should have their heads removed in interviews. Hannity squashed it damn quick though, I think he knew where it was going and it's too crazy even for his show.

That and, with the exception of some states, Democratic voters tend to be concentrated in urban areas. Which further handicapped them.

But his attorneys have repeatedly made elementary errors in those high-profile cases: misspelling “poll watcher” as “pole watcher,” forgetting the name of the presiding judge during a hearing, inadvertently filing a Michigan lawsuit before an obscure court in Washington and having to refile complaints after erasing entire arguments they’re using to challenge results.
“I’ve never seen an election lawyer handle a case as poorly as Giuliani has,” Hasen said. “The idea that the lawyer arguing the most important case in Pennsylvania would not understand what it means to apply the standard of strict scrutiny in a constitutional case is mind-boggling.”

I am surprised that he was still able to find law firms willing to work from him. Awhile back I heard one of his former lawyer on NPR described why reputable New York law firms won't represent him "he does not listen and he does not pay."
