Let that no single person is left out of college for economic reasons and more ( not all of course) will learn skepticism and critical thinking.

Here’s my ideas on what has lead to so many people voting against their self interest.

1.) Culture of idolizing the wealthy and those with sociopathic behaviors as long as they are charismatic.

2.) Poor education system especially for those in poverty.

3.) US Christianity large influence in politics and policy.

4.) Corporation large influence in politics and policy.

5.) Propaganda and foreign misinformation campaigns.

6.) culture of not caring about the mental health of children and adults.

7.) A lot and I mean fucking a lot of children and adults are abused physically and mental throughout this country. Especially in poor communities. Which lead to many many traumatized people who don’t do good in life.

There is so much work that’s needs to be done in the US that it seems impossible.

Trump is the product of everything I mentioned. His father was mentally abusive and who has also been described as a sociopath.

That is my entire point, we need to stop humoring people by pretending there is any validity to the "argument" that Trump can win the election. There simply isn't. We had an election, we counted the votes from that election, and Biden won by fairly comfortable margins (Not huge margins, but comfortably enough to remove reasonable doubt as to the winner).

Faithless electors could swing the vote in some states like Pennsylvania and Michigan.

Based on the way we expect results to turn out, Trump would need about 40 electors to defy their state’s popular vote for Biden and cast ballots for Trump when the electoral college meets in mid-December. That’s equivalent to all electors in Pennsylvania and Arizona and then a handful of others elsewhere. In other words, it would be a historic electoral revolt. In 2016, seven electors changed their votes.

Rationally, no. The "Legislatures will appoint electors" thing isn't actually possible in reality, although it sort of is in theory. For that to happen, a state would have to completely invalidate their own election. That is simply not going to happen. It would also lead to issues where you couldn't seat any down ballot races until you had a new election, so everyone from Governors and Senators on down would simply not have an office to hold.

This would also have to happen in at least three states, AND courts would have to uphold such a blatant power grab AND Nancy Pelosi would have to accept that result, because the House of Representatives is the final count of electoral votes.

In short, it is only possible if the legislatures of three states are willing to complete destroy their state governments and throw their state into chaos, and the courts also back this insanity, and Nancy Pelosi is a secret Trumpster playing the (very) long con.

Going into a state with a large cuban and latin american population and loudly declaring yourself to be a socialist does not seem to be a winning strategy. Hell a lot of that blew back on the various democrats running in FL as it was just stupidly easy to slather on the they are sodalists crap even stronger than before. FL was one of those nice to have states but it was barely above TX for likely to swing democrat this year. And with the increasing strength in the south west the dem party does not need to focus that much on FL because it is not pivotal to their pathway to win. It is basically there with georgia as very nice to have but not something necessary just frosting on the cake.

This election, the divide between urban and rural, or to be precise wealth & opportunity gap, has never been more stark. With the exception of Denton and Montgomery, every single TX counties with population over 500k voted for Biden. Tarrant, population of 2.1M, voted for a Democratic president for the first time in decades.

The problem is that the southeastern border counties, which had been Democratic strongholds, either switched completely or showed decrease in Democratic supports. Lack of outreach was a factor. However, I think the biggest factor is that Democrat was perceived as being hostile to the largest employment sectors in these counties. Namely border protection law enforcement agencies (Border Patrol, ICE, CBP) and fracking. The fact that TX oil field unemployment is at 50% and a lot of Democrats were cheering (myself included) probably did not help in enforcing that perception.

I posted on other threads that 95 out of 100 of US counties with the largest economy overwhelmingly voted for Biden. An increase of 12 since the 2016 election. Unsurprisingly, that goes for the rural counties also. Rural counties in California and Colorado that are doing well economically, also voted for Biden overwhelmingly. The biggest divide between GOP and Democratic voters is not rural vs. urban. It boils down to economic opportunities.

Others can explain it better than me, but basically for many reasons, among which what power the house has, and the rules and laws regarding the elector, especially once they’ve already voted, is that no, there won’t be any shenanigans.

The absolute “worst” case scenario is that should anything weird happen, the house can choose not to accept the electors, as their qualifications would have changed without notice. The house wouldn’t start an electoral vote, and if it’s not resolved, come 1/20 we have acting president pelosi.

If the republicans had the house, we’d possibly see shenanigans, but luckily that’s not the case.

So we know Graham is reaching out to the SoS for Georgia to pressure him to toss votes, and apparently reaching out to...someone in AZ and NV (he claimed the SoS, but the NV SoS denied speaking with him) over votes.

But this struck me -

He's so hopelessly partisan that I guess he literally can't imagine that professionals who are doing a job can act as professionals and put partisanship aside.
