Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect. There is nothing more or else to it, and there never has been, in any place or time. --Frank Wilhoit
Folly and fakery have always been with us... but it has never before been as dangerous as it is now, never in history have we been able to afford it less. - Isaac Asimov
Every damn thing you do in this life, you pay for. - Edith Piaf
The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. - Orwell
No amount of belief makes something a fact. - James Randi
In theory he world be a tie breaker if the senate decides to rule on the objection in the senate, but its meaningless if the house doesnt rule on the same objection, and they won't like I said, since Dem's have control of the house, so his role is to stand by as congress stamp him losing his job.
Just to note here ... expect this to happen. Someone in the house already has said he's going to do it, and Ted Cruz hinted that someone on the senate side will as well. I read that Trump will push for this, as one final "trump loyalty test". Get them ALL on record. Good luck republicans, I hope you don't fail this test ...
Oh I 100% expect it to happen. What I'm saying is, it happening doesn't matter on who's president. Trump can't do anything to remain president now. That's the whole point, come Monday it's over.
Edit - really it's been over since the media called it, but come Monday trump has no way to stop it.

"Law and Order", lots of places have had that, Russia, North Korea, Saddam's Iraq.
Laws can be made to enforce order of cruelty and brutality.
Equality and Justice, that is how you have peace and a society that benefits all.
https://twitter.com/igorbobic/status...021914624?s=19Pelosi: "The 126 Republican Members that signed onto this lawsuit brought dishonor to the House. Instead of upholding their oath to support and defend the Constitution, they chose to subvert the Constitution and undermine public trust in our sacred democratic institutions."
Well I posted about NJ Representative saying all 126 Congress should be brought up on charges of being a traitor.
Well, back to the pussy cat Democrats. A 'Dishonor'? Those harsh words should really put those traitors in their place. Sigh, one more time.
"Buh dah DEMS"
Point of fact; the Rep in NJ didn't call for them to be charged; that would be 126 lengthy and hard-fought court cases that would end up in appeals and likely not bring about final convictions for years.
He called for them to not be seated in their Houses, because their actions could be construed as "insurrection or rebellion against the USA". The text was written after the end of the Civil War with exactly that purpose; to ensure nobody involved in such an act could ever serve in the government again, so we're not even misconstruing domestic and foreign issues.
It also doesn't take a court case, IIRC. They just get barred from taking their seats, and are not a member of the Senate or House of Representatives. Their election is voided. Their home state gets to hold a special election to replace them, in which they cannot run themselves (or they'll just get barred again).
Much faster, and more immediately effective.
This also, I'll note, isn't being driven with any expectation of swinging any votes. I haven't checked, but I'd be shocked if any of these 126 weren't in sold-red districts that would summarily replace them with another Republican. Nobody's going to lose representation and the Dems won't gain any ground in either House. That's not what this is about. It's telling these 126 fuckos that they can fuck off forever for being seditious fucknuts.
So...yeah. There's that. The Supreme Court really let us down. No Wisdom, No Courage!
I don't think the Democracts will have the juevos to do something like this, although they absolutely should. It is interesting that if those members are refused seats, they are not allowed to run for their seats again. And not requiring a court case is even more interesting.
Apparently Guilliani has convinced Trump that they just need to retool the texas lawsuit, but have Trump as the plaintiff, so that he would have standing (according to some right wing rag). Not sure if that'll go anywhere, since I don't believe he can go right to the Supreme Court like texas could. So it looks like they are going to drag the on and on and on ...
Do you remember before the election, when reporters asked republicans "What if Trump doesn't accept the election results?" and they all said "oh, that's silly, I'm sure he will". And now those same republicans are pushing to overturn the election themselves. Funny times.
Things are changing though. The Texas talks of succession combined with the republican House members doing their thing combined with the Supreme Court completely annihilating Trump's legal team have changed the tenor of the debate.
Trump and his supporters are laughing stocks now. People are tired of his antics, and are also starting to understand the price the US is paying for his crap.
I think that the democrats absolutely should unseat them. But even if they don't, it seems to me that Trump and his supporters have been defeated. They will still cause more damage to the US, but they gave it their best shot and they got crushed. And they did not look good as they went down to defeat - there is nothing noble about what Trump and his team have been doing. The death threats that Trump supporters send out to so many people, including republicans, hurts them a lot as well.
They will still get some victories in now and again. And they will use the virus as a weapon to be used to punish the US for rejecting them. Which is kind of what they have been doing the whole time. But it seems to me that their best days are behind them.
