The college she claimed to get a degree from and taught at said they have no idea what she's talking about. She also claimed she was a legislative assistant when she was really a staff assistant... She did this under oath as an expert witness in cases that got people put away for life...

Now there are at least 2 cases that are going to be reopened involving domestic abuse.

Doing some investigative journalism isn't smearing an accuser. The fact her story falling apart has the potential to set abusers free is far worse than what the internet has been accusing people with a hint of skepticism.

But one does not exclude the other though. She could have lied about being a human for all I care but that does not mean that she lied about something else.
I did not follow the Biden story that much because of the right-wing push who wanted to take the moral high-ground (they don't get the moral high-round). But when I see an story that is technically not related and is used to discredit the overall character of that person then I would see that as a smeer job even the mistakes of that person are proven to be true.

Trying to undermine the credibility of a person just because they might have done something, does not in my opinion, invalided the claim. Biden could have just as well did whatever this women claims as well that this women lied about XYZ.

But even there, those accounts haven't been consistent. Even Reade's own account to journalists has not remained consistent over time.

It's not that there's a mountain of evidence and people are trying to discredit the accuser to ignore that evidence. There's no evidence. There is only the credibility of that accuser. That's literally all we have to work with. So yeah; that credibility is going to be central.
