Going into the election it must be understood that Trump has something like 45% of the electorate locked in. Sure, maybe we can finesse that number, but its going to be close to that regardless. It doesn't matter if he lies, shits the bed, grabs pussy, etc - his zombies will vote for him! What part of the shocking lack of information on the part of the average Trump zombie still surprises any of you? Over the weekend, this greedy, clearly secular asshole was rambling on about the need for "more prayer, not less." Reality has nothing to do with voting for Trump.
Biden utterly fails to create any enthusiasm for his candidacy whatever. He bumps around in his basement creating problems more than engaging anyone with whatever the hell he supposedly stands for except shit like:
* No medicare for all (during a pandemic!)
* (To Wall Street in a time of historic economic inequality) Nothing will fundamentally change
* If you don't vote for me, you ain't black
You can already see the Trump bounce because of how the pandemic is being turned into a political football. Apparently, Trump zombies will proudly die of Covid-19 just to "own the libs."
And hey, folks like Endus, when and if the jackass gets his second term. It will be the people having chosen him, right?
There are many reasons for that.
M4A enjoys broad, majority support. In theory. And all the polling backs that up. You see upwards of 70% of Americans on-board with the idea of M4A.
The rub comes in when you start talking about plans - the cost to taxpayers (even if you clarify this is shifting the costs from after the fact to before), the overall cost of the package, the potential loss of plans people may like now, potential impacts on access to things like elective surgeries and care, worries about wait times etc. etc. etc.
And to be honest, "during a pandemic!" isn't really a meaningful statement either. This wouldn't be anything that could be done quickly as it would require massive work to rework the health care payment and delivery systems, and would functionally kill off a large industry that employs millions. It's an industry that needs to go away, but it's also something you have to address so you don't suddenly have millions of newly unemployed people...alongside the millions that are currently newly unemployed. Couple that with the fact that hospitals would have to drastically alter how they operate both financially and in their delivery of care, and it's even more insane.
Whether or not you were suggesting some form of immediate implementation or not, that's a reality and I'm throwin it out there.
M4A is great, and I hope to see it in my lifetime. But I'm not expecting it anytime soon, nor should anyone else.
Depressingly, this is pretty accurate. It was also the general consensus of primary Democrats that they were fine with this, which is why Biden got the nomination.
As dumb and indefensible as that comment was, it's not as significant as folks are making it out to be in the longrun.

? His overall approval rating remains in the low 40's, and he's lost the "bounce" he got in early April.
Don't get me wrong, Biden isn't generating much enthusiasm and it's hurting him with the younger demographic specifically (though they don't vote much, anyways). But I don't think that enthusiasm would be there period this cycle. None of the candidates were able to generate and sustain meaningful enthusiasm, at least outside of their core bases, not even Sanders.
Actually the die hard Trump supporters are 33-35%, I haven't seen any polling showing otherwise so feel free to link it. Even among republicans there is a 5-15% swing in his support, the 45% number is the percentage of vote he got against Hillary in 2016 not his hardcore base.
I...but it's "happening", so he's not stopping it?
Why won't someone DO SOMETHING?!
Fucking hell Twitter is the dumbest platform. This is why you don't treat Trump with kid gloves and like he's remotely serious. I hope their executives who backed this cowardly approach are all squirming in their seats.

Ha! I just heard about it recently... current conspiracy theory age is like the modern version of a circus. Come see the dumb ass who thinks the sky is projected from Antarctica... over here we have a dog faced boy, but don’t mind that, the true horror is what he exposes about NASA...

I already watched the full hour and a half, then linked it here at least once. I related the hunt for cringe to the modern political climate. Every Trump post desensitizes people to his cringe, needing something more and more cringe, just to get the same reaction.
Like the Biden cringe... what he said was bad enough, but notice that the vast majority claim he said ‘those that don’t vote for me’, which is more cringe than what he said... but, he never said vote.
