It is too late to do anything though. Unless Biden loses, which seems unlikely at this stage, you have 8 years of a corporate lapdog doing the bidding of Wall St. If Trump wins you have 4 years of Wall St - but even if a progressive emerges as a presidential candidate almost the entire democrat infrastructure is designed to help the wealthy-it would take at least a decade to get rid of it.

What is happening with the handouts to big business right now and the mass evictions, literal starvation that will follow is not just bad for most poor Americans. It is a literal extermination. They won't have the numbers, money, organization or ability to do anything to stop mass automation and a permanent exclusion from society. This is passive ethnic cleansing.

I have mixed feelings about this. The US kind of deserves to collapse, it has been through its weight around in numerous illegal wars and its citizens never really cared how many people its military industrial death machine murdered. On the other hand difficult to wish the kind of suffering you are and will continue to experience on anybody.

WTF? Trump winning will do something? Trump is a corporation... this doesn’t make any sense what so ever... no democrat has ever given the sort of hand outs that Bush did with TARP and Trump did with his tax cut. Yet, the only solution is Trump Corporation beating Biden? That doesn’t make any sense...

You mean the hospitality corporation we have as president, is fighting democrats and medical professionals? I’m sorry, being poor is not an ethnicity, while it’s democrats and Biden, that are fighting Trump trying to ignore reality, so his business open faster.

Does it really mater? You will create what ever reality suits you at the time...

A Trump victory leaves open the possibility of a progressive becoming a president in 4 years.

It isn't really necessary for you to your "Trump is bad" speech every thirty fucking seconds. We know Trump is bad. The problem is you want to replace Trump with a guy exactly like fucking Trump.

Yes it does leave open the possibility. It is a statement of fact. I didn't even say it was likely. It is, however, a non-zero possibility, do you understand that dogshit-for-brains?

You insinuated something more than that now you've dialed it back with pedantry. Kudos on consistantly being one of the worst posters on this forum though.

The Trump attack ads are starting. I am surprised they took so long.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...7r?li=BB141NW3

Title: Trump's campaign to paint Biden as mentally unfit becomes a gamble

    Excerpts:

Less than four months from the November election, President Donald Trump's attacks on presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden's mental fitness are an integral part of the president's re-election message: the focus of television advertisements, talking points and open challenges from the president.
SO FAR, this has not been effective.

As the two septuagenarians battle it out, a poll July 2 from Monmouth University found 52% of voters saying they believe Biden has the mental and physical stamina to be president versus 45% for Trump.

More troubling for the president, Biden has moved ahead among voters 65 or older in several national surveys, including a significant 14-point advantage in a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday, helping propel him to double-digit leads nationally. Trump won seniors by 7 percentage points in 2016 over Hillary Clinton, according to exit polls, with white senior voters a key part of his coalition.
On the other hand, his campaign just started. "But her emails" ended up being quite effective 4 years ago.

In a Biden campaign memo earlier this month, deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield sought to debunk each of Trump's attacks. Bedingfield said ample polling shows “voters aren’t buying Trump’s smear” and have concerns about Trump’s own fitness to lead the country.

"Trump literally suggested Americans inject disinfectant to cure COVID-19," she said
The Biden campaign has to fight back hard against this. The problem is that Trump has so many negatives that it is hard to focus on 1 or 2. If the Biden campaign focuses on 1 or 2 major negatives like "Trump says to Drink Bleach for Covid protection" they will probably do better.

I am really hoping that Trump drops down to the low 30s. At that point his attacks almost don't matter.

Two things they can focus on that will do better than the disinfectant comment since too many people believe he was "joking":

    1) His silence on Russian bounties on US troops. All he said about it once it came out in the news was "I was never briefed". Not "what a terrible thing and we should be sanctioning Russia immediately, etc. etc.."
    2) Unemployment is WAY up and healthcare coverage is WAY down.

    So Trump's jokes kill?

As long as they pick out 1 or 2 thing that have an easy to remember sound bite and are easy to repeat over and over. And over and over and over again.

4 more months until November. Ick.

Hey, I don't agree in the least that he was joking. That's just the standard reply for every time he says something phenomenally stupid. So instead of going after what he says--which they ignore EVERY time, because you HAVE to if you support him otherwise you can't listen to any of his speeches or read any transcripts--you go after what he does. Or in this case, DOESN'T. He made no real condemnation about the bounties that I saw, he hasn't expanded healthcare and he hasn't increased "JOBS JOBS JOBS".

If they want to talk about Trump's "jokes" they should definitely play the clip of the only audience that laughed, the UN.

Oh he was never joking. I guess the thing to remember is: the goal of the ads are to keep the base going, and to peel off a few more republicans. So no need to worry about hard core Trump supporters lying about Trump's intentions.

A decent idea would be to take the best of what anti-Trump republicans use against Trump. They are doing a great job. No need to reinvent the wheel

Well, he basically dissed Harriet Tubman, so I don't even know who he's trying to woo to his side anymore.

Normal people with that huge a mental issue are treated. I guess if you're super rich it's just seen as an eccentricity and ignored.
