Warren was out of the question after floyd's death tho.

Warren I think was mostly out because the senate if we flip it is going to be narrow AF and if she took the VP seat a gop gov would pick her replacement until an election could be held. That's would be counter productive so she is better off where she is. If we take the senate with enough margin give her the head of the consumer protection bureau and watch corporation heads explode.

I'm so happy it's over. My money was on Kamala from the moment they set up a vetting committee, and I trust that they made the right choice. I didn't get Warren or Rice, but I'll happily go with the smartest pick over the smartest candidate.

The last minute push for Bass and the "ambition" denigration was a bit worrisome, but it looks like she passed the final test.

What do you mean with 11 people? that 11 women went through the vetting process in total? sounds about right.

But yeah Kamala has been polling consistently well in all the polls I've looked at. I think that once she gets some more exposure many more people will be charmed by her. Can't wait to see how this unfolds and whether she will become a Trump campaign target. If AOC taught us anything it is that low hanging fruit can monumentally backfire.

Meh. Not the choice I would have wanted given that her being from California and has a past that is being used against her to some effect, but I can live with it.

The prosecutorial past will only hurt her from the waaaaaay Left, and they've already decided they're irrelevant this cycle by not showing up for Bernie.

Maybe it'll change in the future, but prosecutors' offices were almost a must for Dem lawyers going into politics when Kamala got in the game.

So far the only oppo that the Trump campaign/media could dredge up is old news.

-Kamala is "phony" (Trump needs a nickname for her)
-Kamala is "radical"
-Kamala is ambitious and wealthy
-Kamala fought dirty vs. Biden during the primaries

So really the only new things here are the nickname and trying to paint her as "radical". Not sure this is the smartest course for them, but hey let's see what else they got.

I think you want Biden to separate and distinguish himself from the Obama administration. Especially considering how hard (and falsely) the GOP attack the Obama administration.

There hasn't been a speech on it yet, but I also like the image of these two (Biden and Harris) mending fences after she criticized him, quite rightly, for supporting bussing in the 70s. I'll be looking for a Biden speech about "listening to the voices around me, healing the wounds of this country" in that vein, tbh.
