Obama got lots of stuff done.

Except when it came to economic policy he constantly made changes and decisions that benefited corporations and the upper-class.

If you check politico, you can easily notice that he kept a lot of his campaign promises -BUT- kept exactly none of his economic policy campaign promises -or worse- gave tax breaks not to the lower income classes, but to the highest income classes instead contrary to what his election platform claimed before the elections.

Betraying the economics effectively set the stage for the present and whatever grim-dark horrors await. I'd also add he had a gruesomely awful foreign policy. To Trumps credit he has been 0.01% less trigger happy than previous presidents. I know that rubbed Bolton and a lot of these National Security goons the wrong way. Though I suspected he was going to go to war with Iran he backed off, and I have to give credit where credit is due, he did not listen to Boltons advice to bomb the shit out of Iranians, though killing one was fucking fucked up enough. Also credit to Obama for the nuclear deal, though I never gave a crap if Iran developed nuclear power.

Any good student of history will know that the chances are extremely high that Biden will treat his economic campaign promises in a similar manner, or worse, because he is arguably more conservative and has a history of compromising with the Republicans / GOP on a lot of issues.

So the choice, then, is between a guy that might could maybe possibly do things that benefit the rich and powerful... or a guy that will DEFINITELY do things that ONLY benefit the rich and powerful, whilst also working to ratfuck the country in every way possible while systematically disassembling the institutions of democracy and sound governance and promoting a global attitude of authoritarianism whilst personally enriching himself to boot.

Some people on here seem to think this isn't some sort of binary choice. It is. It's not "Biden or Trump or I abstain from the country having a president for the next four years until prince charming comes along." And when the choice is between icecream that's not your favorite flavor... or being punched repeatedly in the face every day for four years straight... you pick the so-so icecream.

And all of the things people are... "accusing," I guess... Biden of potentially doing because he's a "fake liberal," Trump will definitely do because that's his platform.

So again, how would voting for Trump be any better? Biden might pay lip service to the "rich and powerful", but he and the DNC at least acknowledge the existence of minorities and the poor, as well. For Trump and the GoP, the rich and powerful are far more important, and minorities only exist insofar as they are a useful scapegoat to their poorer constituents.

And since most democrats believe that the only solution to every problem in the world is elections and putting their fates in the hands of politicians... I think it's fair to conclude that Trump is the USA's president for life at this point.

Because voting is the only political power most of us have. I can already take a guess at how you'll answer, but what you have us do instead?

What happens to Trump’s real estate empire, if there is a civil war? Not just in US, but all over the world. Does Brittan or Scotland just get to keep Trump’s hotels and golf courses, since there is no US to protect those contracts?

The UK's NHS, free at point of service is the most affordable plan so, I am unsure what the Dems are talking about with this "Affordable" and "Accessibility" talk. Or, actually I do, it means "We won't do anything". Also of note labour rights and minimum wage are entirely absent from this. So @wunksta I don't think the DNC is intending to be much of a "raise the min. wage" party going forward, its definitely not a centerpiece or something the party is going to fight for. The other two questions were if you planned to vote, and will you give Biden money.

I am pointing out that the Democratic Party isn't a Leftist party. Something for which people both agree with, but also act with indignant rage at the mere mention of this fact and having it pointed out. Like it seems most people in this thread would agree that the DNC isn't a Leftist party; but then find it outrageous or even evil to point that fact out.

And, neither party, for neither party is pushing for Universal Healthcare Services. "Affordability" is totally meaningless. What is Affordable? Affordable to who? To Jeff Bezos? To a homeless person? Because we already know what is the most Affordable healthcare service possible, its a UK or Canadian style National Health Service. Anything other than that isn't actually "Affordable" in universal terms, just "Affordable" to someone, probably to the CEO of Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

I hope that the social democrats within the Democratic Party / DNC will make their voices heard on that survey... if it happens fairly. My suspicions on those happening fairly are about as high as the elections in November 2020 happening fairly, sadly. (If only to avoid imago damage incidents.)
