Yeah and the GOP has shaped the last 40 years of the country. Even when Democrats win they are often make more concessions to the GOP than the GOP would ever return.

And not in a positive way. Our international influence has declined. The middle class has shrunk. Our economy struggles as often as it doesn't. Purchasing power has dropped. Home ownership has dropped. Wages have stagnated. A select few have made billions while millions have fallen into poverty.

And that's with half the country being mindless fanatics who'll jump whenver their leaders command it.

You REALLY want that to be 100% of the country?

The DNC is capable of countering the GOP, the fact that they're literally elected almost every other time is a fairly good example of that. They counter insanity and fanaticism with reason and rationality. It's not as "exciting" sure but it's the only answer. You don't fight fanaticism with MORE fanaticism.

So figure out what you actually want the DNC to do other than be "more exciting". Because that's sort of a bullshit request that underscores a deep misunderstanding of what's actually going on.

Trump's idea to cut the payroll tax? Yeah, it'll bankrupt Social Security by 2023. Part of me almost wants it to happen because maybe the old racists will start wondering where their SSI checks are and start to slowly piece together that they've been fuckin had.

But it will cause too much suffering to actually want that.

Glad I've basically been planning and budgeting in the expectation that Social Security/Medicare will be bankrupt by the time I retire. Living frugally as hell isn't always the most fun, but at least I'll have savings and investments to fall back on after the programs I've spent decades contributing to end up falling apart without me seeing a penny in return.

Most of them are straight up grifters, setting up sound bites to sway people who have been checked out of politics. Imagine listening to D'Souza and Ben Shapiro talking about current events for a few hours.

One even giving straight up cult rhetoric, as in "did you have Charles Manson as your speech writer" levels of creepiness. If you study cult rhetoric, or guru rhetoric, that sort of radicalization of individuals by alienating any alternating viewpoints and establishing Trump as the sole arbiter of the truth was spot on.

The Republican National Convention kicked off Monday night with an anti-teachers union screed from a 28-year educator who also recently wrote an op-ed accusing U.S. schools of grooming children to be sexualized.

“If we as a society are so disturbed by the actions of Epstein, Miss Maxwell and an untold number of others,” Rebecca Friedrichs wrote in The Washington Times in July, referring to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his criminally charged former partner Ghislaine Maxwell, “then why are we allowing America’s public schools to groom our children to be sexualized?”

The essence of Friedrichs’ argument is that sex education can “sexualize” children and lead to “heightened sexual activity and even abuse by predators like Epstein.”

While Friedrichs offers no empirical evidence to support this claim, naturally, she argues that unions are to blame.

“Leading this despicable charge are unions posing as teachers and the deceptively named Healthy Teen Network, a coalition of over 180 sexual and reproductive-health justice organizations,” Friedrichs wrote.

The DNC only gets elected when things get dire, they pass legislation favorable to the GOP, GOP backstabs then, DNC promptly gets voted out of existence again. Last 40 years of the United States of America. We very much live in the age of Reagan, not the Carter, Clinton, or Obama. Hell you have Democrats who even praise Reagan.

You can keep talking fanaticism, it's still on the spectrum of loyalty. They don't have a problem with motivation and turnout. They beat one of the most qualified candidates in US history with a reality TV star.

The best the DNC has done of late was out the trash for the GOP once the GOP has gotten its use out of it.
