If that's all it would take for you to vote Trump then I'd question your values, honestly. I'm assuming you said that in jest, but you never know on these forums.

Also assuming Pelosi wasn't just trolling Trump, I kind of agree with her. There's very little to be gained having those debates given that we already know Trump is a massive fuckup in every sense who will just make up shit or intone "WRONG" when someone says something he doesn't like and Biden, in general, isn't all that exciting on stage. It'll basically be a repeat of 2016 where Trump threw actual fits on stage--ripping up his notes by the end of the debate and turning red in the face--except Biden's less energetic than Clinton was.

They should probably still happen just for the optics, but they are, ultimately, a waste of time in this election.

It's been synonymous with his Presidency. Trying to cover up all his racism by saying, 'but look at this black dude who's on my side!'

Its a literal trope...."I ain;t racist, I got a friend who is black!" has been said by every non Klan racist since the 1800's.

Pretty much. RNC now carting out Sean Reyes, their resident QAnon AG. It's like they only know how to whistle in one way.

    ---

It's shameful. They've even brought out David Dorn's widow, who is portraying her husband as a Trump supporter. Her kids have come out and clearly said otherwise. I can't even begin to express how pathetic this entire thing is.

I just want to point something out, despite the ban. Literally no one disagrees with you about Biden. Every single person you call a child, a rapist supporter or neoliberal, doesn’t actually disagree with you on Biden. The only issue people have, is choosing to not vote. Not only because this happens to align with a Trump’s strategy, but because of every issue you have with Biden. You interpret people pointing out that Trump is so much worse than Biden, that there is no reasonable reason to not vote, as cheerleading...

Do you see why people might interpret this as supporting Trump? I will repeat again, not a single person you have insulted, disagreed with you on Biden... this isn’t about policy or neoliberals...

Edit: Just to point this out... We are on day 4, where GOP claims that your political view is destruction of western culture. That Biden are not the criminal justice reform asshole and a shit DA, but people who abide by your ideology. The entire 4 days are a red scare, to make Biden look like an extremist socialist, out to destroy the country. Not done by Biden... not done by neoliberals... not done by Bernie haters... there is only one candidate that is promising the return of McCarthism and that’s not Biden... and if you think you are not a communist... might want to check what Trump and his goons have been convincing more than 20 million people the last 4 days...

Wonderful speech by Alice Johnson at the RNC. She did not attack the Democrats. She was civil. She said and told her story and what she was thankful for. No attacks. No bias. Nothing negative. This is how both parties should behave -- bipartisan, open, mature, and unagressively-opinionated.

Newsflash, there used to be more of this before Trump showed up. Just go look at how Bush dealt with the transition of power in 2008. Or Obama in 2016. Or Clinton in 2000. Even when there were party divides and ugly politics, there was some level of grace. It's the GOP that has eroded this by embracing hateful faux populism. So whilst what you're saying would be welcome, there's a reason it's ugly. And it's not the democrats.

I'm about 99.9% sure you won't find a single person who regularly posts in the politics sub that has Biden as their guy in any of the numerous primary threads we've had. More than willing to be proven wrong. He knows exactly why he's called a Trump supporter, cause he is.

Alice Johnson is in the unique position of probably not actually supporting the Trump Administration, but unable to deny the political favor done for her by Trump.

She also credited her pardon to "divine intervention," after becoming a pastor in prison. Keep in mind, this isn't a person who was unjustly imprisoned, she was a major coke dealer with ties to Colombian drug lords, and was sentenced to life in prison.

So....IDK. I don't believe minor, nonviolent drug offenders should be in jail, but she A) wasn't minor, and B) she was connected to some very violent people. But she was a model prisoner, and life without parole was probably too strict a sentence (another example of black people being oversentenced). It was done purely for publicity.

She's in an extremely delicate spot, where she knows that Trump has cherry picked her for political purposes, but can't exactly turnaround and rail on him. I mean, it's a genius political move, really.

Except African Americans who aren't going to vote for him still aren't going to vote for him. Because he's scum.

I mean, her organization in which she admitted to be a high level (IE not a street level) player and middleman, moved like 1-3k pounds of coke a month in fucking TENNESSEE.

And in the past Trump has said he'd like to execute major drug dealers.

But Kanye's wife came knocking, and he saw the photo ops he could get out of pardoning an old African American grandmother, and he chomped at the bit. I'd be surprised if he even knows what she was in for.

Pretty much. His speech right now is hilarious. There's just no ebb and flow at all. Every sentence sounds like some dramatic William Shatner dialogue from Trek. Pauses and emphasis on random words with lots of lies just folding into each other.

I keep just having the same word coming to my mind - scary.

If someone wants to believe the narrative their spinning and get to Level 6 in the cult, it's totally doable.

The Kool Aid is right there to drink. And it's absolutely frightening.

Agreed. It's too bad the GOP gave up on that tact a LOOOOOOONG time ago.

I hate to ask, but didn't Trump have a property down in Central/South America that was suing to get rid of Trump's name, and the entire thing had some drug lord financiers or something close?

It's not even the guilty in a court - the only accuser against him was essentially shown to be lying.

Trump, meanwhile, has open court cases that have been moved forward, about his rapes and assaults.
@Felya's characterization of Biden, vis a vis his Lil Jetti remarks, are entirely incorrect.

Haha not watching, but sound accurate, that's most of his prepared speeches. Has he had any slurs or mispronunciations yet?
