Agreed. Unfortunately, education is typically community regulated (for usually good reasons), and that means that the ignorance and hatred and racism will continue to perculate through the generations.

The only way to really fix that is make schools federally run (which has ENORMOUS problems, even assuming it's done well) and require that every person who marries/procreates, must do so with someone not of the same color skin as themselves (which, of course, is impossible to mandate).

One exchange from the CNN article that I don't think has received much attention yet -

Just 3 months after being briefed on the biggest national security threat of his presidency, Trump has no recollection of the briefing or comment. But he's sure that O'Brien said it, because he's a nice guy.

The fact that we're in a thread even discussing a possibility where Biden doesn't win, or even that the vote could be close is absolutely mind-blowing to me. This is the fast-lane to Idiocracy.

    Question:
Does the Media love Trump more in 2020 than they did in 2016?

This is how the NY Times is displaying the president LYING to the public about a life-and-death issue that is the #1 concern in the world right now...

vs how they displayed Hillary's emails

That would be a depressing future.

They won't learn. The great depression happened under our first businessman president, and Hoover did jack shit. Our second one happened under our second businessman president and he's doing jack shit. Hopefully it'll be another 100 years when it happens again(and i'm sure it will because people don't ever learn and you can't fix stupid) and we'll all be dead and won't have to deal with idiots thinking it was ever a good idea.

The excuses have already started. People like Shapiro are just trying to play this off as, 'well, this is just what Trump does'.

Right...200k almost dead. More everyday, but it's just what he does!

Man, heading over to /r/conservative you'd figure at least a few of them would be pretty fuckin furious about the Woodward news, maybe folks who lost loved ones.

Got bored after scrolling through 100+ posts on the front page, not a link to the Woodward news in site.

Lots and lots of posts about his Nobel nomination (lel)
Fair number of posts of articles defending Rittenhouse (fuck Massie)
The Portland mayor is very unpopular (surprising nobody who is paying attention)
Various other stuff like something about WAP and how they'd rather have Candice Owens

So it seems like the immediate response is to ignore it and wait for the Intelligencia of the Conservative Vanguard to come up with some talking points for them to start repeating.

I would go in there and post a link to the article and go on about how Trump lied to the American people and betrayed our trust but it's a safe bet it would immediately get locked and deleted by the mods and I'd get banned.

At least 3 stories just today that, all by themselves, should cause any normal sane person to stop supporting a president.

You heard it here first. Bobby Kotick for president 2024. "Bobby Kotick is a successful business man that oversaw a company that grew outpacing the SP500 for two decades."

The hardcore Trumpers wont budge. But this might really sink some vulnerable GOP senate races.

    • Remember when Susan Collins voted to acquit Trump saying, “The president has been impeached. That’s a pretty big lesson.”
    • Sen. Thom Tillis, a vulnerable Republican, said he wants to see "the full context" of Trump's comments before fully weighing in. But he added: "When you're in a crisis situation, you have to inform people for their public health but you also don't want to create hysteria.”
    • Sen. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina, pointed to Feb. 29 comments that Fauci made on the "Today" show where he said that there was "no need" for people to change their lifestyles "at this moment," though Fauci also warned about the threat of "community spread" from coronavirus
    • "I’d argued since day one that we put this in proper perspective: I have not been in favor of these overall shut downs, have been devastating to the economy, devastating to people's health in other ways," said Sen. Ron Johnson
    • Joni Ernst, in a tough race, ignores questions about Trump’s comments to Woodward downplaying the virus.
    • Sen. Martha McSally, an Arizona Republican also in a tough race, also didn’t weigh in when asked to respond to the comments. “Haven’t heard them.”

    GOP: He didn't do it.
    Trump: I did it.

GOP: He didn't mean to do it.
Trump: I wish I'd done it sooner.

GOP: He did it for benign reasons.
Trump: I did it for the worst reasons.

    GOP: He's sorry.
    Trump: I'm never sorry.

    GOP: He's chastened.
Trump: I'm doing it again tomorrow.

I'm not sure I'd list hers as "tough". She's currently being murdered. Probably not least because she literally asked her supporters to skip a meal and send the saved money to her campaign.

That's probably why she hasn't heard about them yet. Hunger can be very distracting and slow a person down, and if she's skipping meals like she's asking her supporters to do we have to understand that she's probably a bit slow because she needs to have a snack.

Kidding, she's probably still eating 3-square, very nice meals a day while she's asking her financially struggling supporters who are already pinching pennies to literally starve themselves for her campaign.

The fucking gall and gigantic, shiny, brass balls on that bitch is astounding.

    You forgot -
    GOP - He's kidding
    Trump - I don't kid.

It’s a fairly predictable response from the Republicans. For them it’s like...yeah, so let’s stay calm whilst people die. Because we’re alive!

At least he'd be competent. Hired qualified people around him and listen to advise outside is realm of knowledge. Something Trump has never done. No has he ever been a successful businessman. Successful grifter and snake-oil salesman sure.
