That's the rub of it. If the GOP hadn't pulled their crap with Garland in 2016, I don't think Dems would be happy about this now but would be admitting it's how the system works.

Exactly. It is the Constitutional right of the President to appoint a nominee to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court and the Senate to take it up.
