He needs to learn at to really lean on why people don't like Trump. He has his moments then would immediately pull his punch. Trump has no problem leaning in ie calling out Biden's family or Biden’s career not preventing monsters like Trump himself. Biden was left dumbfounded in those moments. Honestly, the next debate they need to fit Trump with a shock collar and every time he interrupts/talks over Biden or the moderator and whenever he lies, he gets shocked with 10,000 volts. Trump would be glowing like a lightbulb within five minutes.

They all underperformed imo. Both Trump and Biden were more nervous than I expected them to be, both missed a lot of low hanging fruit responding to each other and Wallace was a colossal failure as a moderator. To be fair this was barely a debate and moderators always get flamed, but I really did not expect Wallace to buckle so easily to Trump's barrage of interruptions and pivots. If Wallace can't keep things orderly then good luck to Scully and Welker.
