My issue with Biden was that he was talking too many complex facts, not really making himself clear to the average Joe. Trump talked simple. He was wrong, but at least you understood him.

The only thing that should worry you is that Dotard Tang, Again, said out loud that he plans to invalidate the election results.

Biden really needs to take the gloves off. His fixation on decorum is leaving him feeling too contemptuous toward Trump -- he keeps thinking and feeling: 'can you believe this guy?' -- to even want to bother to respond, assuming that people will see through his lies. But yes, a lot of people believe this guy. He can't just assume that people will see through it. Trump is lying with artillery-fire speed and Biden is essentially just sighing and rolling his eyes and letting half of his claims slide. He's too exasperated at Trump's clownishness and lying that he's allowing him to just stomp around. He really needs to get more aggressive.

I think he's just been overcome with this feeling of 'How can I even dignify this with a response?' which is an infuriating attitude to watch Democrats to adopt -- Hillary and Kerry took on that attitude. He needed to be a lot more forceful than he was. In addition, he needs to act like a human being - that was a painfully weak defense of his son - he needs to show much more humanity in this department. I saw someone on FB literally say they wouldn't have been able to hold back like Biden did if Trump talked that way about their child. It was framed like a compliment, but it's really not one.

Trump looked like an absolute asshole, and if anything that will sink him based on the debate, it will be that, not Chris Cilizza fact checking every other sentance in the WaPo tomorrow.

Nonetheless I doubt it moves more than a few votes. People's minds are made up. The polls have been remarkably consistent all year, with an average of Biden +6-8, through the rioting, the virus, the economic crash... no matter what happens, people have barely budged since the primary season began.

The next moderators can and should learn from this. This can, and maybe should, involve an effective mic cut -- simply turning it off in a small room doesn't do the job. Maybe have them both in separate booths so they can't face each other, and we get to see Trump turning red and pointing but hearing nothing.

    I called it!!!

Biden’s going to have a moment in the Trump debate where he says something like “this dang clown’s ruining the country! Get outta here, clown!” and Left Twitter will dunk on it relentlessly and then Biden will win Wisconsin by 8.

Yes I understood that Trump was a dipshit.

Wallace straight up emboldened Trump and made his points at times (the tax segment). Disappointed because Wallace has been tough on Trump in the past but as a deeply red Republican Wallace still benefits from Trump if only for more judges.

You'd be surprised. Anyways, the average joe doesn't even watch these debates and the people that do are mostly already decided at this point.

This would be Joe on the defensive on the whole debate, because he'd have to use all his time to refute every single one of Trump's many lies. He has to throw his own punches at some point, and that means, to a certain extent, rolling his eyes and ignoring Trump.

I don't know that you can effectively debate a creature like Trump. It's on the moderators to police Trump's behavior, not his opponent's.

I feel for this country if what Biden was stating was complex. Biden's biggest weakness in that debate (IMO) was his occasional stutters and word slips. He lost his train of thought a few times which will be used to challenge his mental competency. Still, Trump was straight up a petulant child that entire debate.

Voters have very small attention spans.

A winning strategy for Trump is to point out that he got them 3 seats and can get them more.

The winning strategy for Biden is to say, you see what Trump has done so far, this is the very least he will be able to do in the next for years.

We're talking about people that haven't gotten up earlier than 9:30 AM for the past decade and still believe they would be capable of surviving if society collapsed.

A take I agree with is Biden showed up not to motivate any voters, especially the left. He was just there to show a normal influence.
