So of course, since I said it, I thought I'd check. Holy shit - Trump is only up by 1 point.
Yup, it's why I'm interested to see how it does between now and election day.

It brings up interesting scenarios for 2024 and 2028...

I mean, if Texas goes blue, what route does the GoP have towards election anymore?

None. But this is obvious. They dont have a long term plan, and have burned all of the possible bridges with their racism, homo/lesbophobia, misoginy, and anti science stances.
And this is happening in many places, not only in the US. That's why said parties either try to adapt with the times, die, or try to do an illegal power grab.

And that's exactly the thing. The Democrat strategy long term ought to be creating metropolises across the country. Urbanisation = progressives.

Modern progressives aren't some hipsters who believe in leaves as a currency. They'll bring money and prosperity. There's no gang warfare there.

It doesn't even need to be a strategy. Increased urbanization, and even metropolitanization is natural and inevitable.

Rural populations will urbanize, urban populations will metropolitanize, and metropolitan populations will trend more and more progressive.

Are we talking about the boats that sank, or the ones that did the sinking here?

So much for environmentalists. Thanks for throwing us under the bus.
    But more power to ghetto-ization.

When I say urbanisation I don’t mean tear trees down and industrialise. I mean bring tech and sustainable industries to states that require economic incentive. Sure, more houses will be built, but that’s inevitable as populations explode.

Um, what? Are you seriously criticising urbanisation from an environmentalist standpoint?

Denser population centers take up less land and are easier to service with public transportation that can be run off renewables.

    Hrm... 4996 boats, maybe.

Four of them sank in the Battle of Lake Travis.

I don't think that's true. Both Romney and McCain were close to Obama, a history-making President as the first black President who had uncontested support in certain demos which are usually at least somewhat contested.

Bush Jr. won his campaign solely on the idea of being a "compassionate conservative," which we all know didn't happen now. This country, including more centrist Dems, are more than willing to vote for a kind, well-spoken conservative, no matter how horrific his policy positions are.

Ah! Recreational boat owners. I used to be one. Sold it after the children left for college. That is another dying breed. No wonder they support Trump.

    Why Aren't Millennials Buying Boats?

Wonder if someone pointed out to them that boats are expensive to purchase and maintain and a lot of millenials have been screwed over twice in ten years by conservative policies causing an inevitable economic meltdown and are using money for actually important purchases.

I guess that's a fair point, but... Pence ain't Romney or McCain... or even Bush Jr.

Quite a few people in America have a highly warped perception of the way class and wealth in America works; the idea that most families own, much less can afford boats has never been true yet it's been considered part of the "middle class lifestyle" in the US for a while.

This is easy. To buy a boat (a ridiculously expensive item, btw) i need to have a decent amount of income. Which i dont have, because finding a job in a post covid market, especially for a person with ASD is extremely dificult, to say the least.

I'd kill for the money to be able to buy a bike, let alone a car, let alone a fucking boat.

Does this graphic include small motorboats used for fishing? Cause 2 million 20-39 year olds owning a boat in 1995 seems crazy to me. Until I recognize that a couple of my friends had those small outboard motorboats that they'd fish with but otherwise doesn't even need to sit in a dock, and would just have it in their driveway the rest of the year.

Welp, apparently Mike Pence's fly raised around $150K in revenue for the Biden campaign in a few hours. All 15K swatters sold out at $10 a pop.

The fly is the Democrats man on the inside.
