But hopefully Trump will make the mistake of repeating "what he didn't say" so that viewers can hear him say it. It's a classic faux pau in political debate - you never want to repeat what you were misquoted in by your opponent.

Maybe his campaign will make him a bunch of extra-large note cards written in sharpie and ask him to just say that and field any rebuttals with his usual litany of generic "nope, wrong... fake news." It's probably the most coherent thing Trump could hope for.

Whether he does that or not he would stick to that is anyone's guess, of course.

For your first point, didnt the debate comission pretty much told him "fuck no" to his attempt to change the topics?

Okay I found some more info.

1) The head of Trump's campaign, I mean, the new head of Trump's campaign, the one who probably doesn't beat his wife, claims that the Committee, Biden's campaign and Trump's campaign discussed the topics. He has nothing in writing, and expects to be taken at his word.

2) Meanwhile both the Committee and Biden's campaign have said that the moderator gets to choose the questions.

3) Trump knows who the moderator is and has already begun attacking her at his rallies.

She's been screaming questions at me for a long time, and she's no good,

I'm modestly confident that Trump has not attacked each of the three moderators before the debate they hosted.

4) In the more likely case that Trump is lying and Biden is not, the topics and the mic muting are very likely now set in stone. Trump changed the rules, twice, once by not following the rules and SHOUTING OVER EVERYTHING, the second time by fleeing from the town hall like a whiny little bitch. I think the Committee is done setting things up, I think they owe Trump nothing, I think the reverse is true and they're sick of his shit, and while I can't find "fuck, no!" in actual writing yet, I think that's basically the intent here.

Trump can always run away from this one too, probably sobbing in hysterical fear. That's his choice. But I don't think he'll get the rule changes he wants. And I think those cameras will be live as he screams his face a darker orange into a muted mic.

You realize your jails are open and there's still people not doing everything they could to support the regime, so you modify exactly who's "undesirable" and expand your scope.
You rinse and repeat until your country inevitably collapses or the rest of the world steps in to make you stop.

But imagine being so off your rocker you find an epidemiologist during a pandemic to be an "enemy of the party."

I feel bad for Fauci I really do. The guy never had politics in his mind, he's just doing what he can to help see us through this pandemic. But Trump treats him like shit. Maybe if Biden wins he can put Fauci on the coronavirus task force and start depoliticizing some of this shit (though a lot of the damage is already done.)

The fact that Trump has seemingly recovered the way he has is an indictment of the American medical system. If an Adderall-snorting, fast food-gorging, spray tan-encased, obese man in his late 70’s can survive this infection, then our death count should be microscopic compared to what it currently is. But no, Trump has access to better care just because.
