We are seeing some really terrific movement in Biden's campaign. And the VP announcement is still yet to come. Did you see the interview/article about the idea of Biden choosing Michele Obama as his VP running mate?

Given that you speak in low-information youtube videos, I am decidedly not.

I did see that. I have mixed feelings about it, but I'm all for whatever it takes to turf that lawless, malignly incompetent, narcissistic orange cataclysm and his shitty band of corrupt racist sycophants (William Barr in particular...).

Agreed. Michelle is on record more than once saying "[not a chance in hell]", but it's an idea worth daydreaming about.

Abrams seems like the top contender. Female and not white. Very bright. Fantastic policy speaker.

I'm sorry to tell them that the Democratic Party should also have room for the poor people and for working class people, no matter how hard they try to exclude them.
Its pure fanboyism, it's like someone who really REALLY loves a specific brand, or has gotten in deep with some Multi-Level Marketing scam and you cannot tell those people anything negative, they just don't wanna hear it or will ever believe it.

We end up with these weird contradictions here. And really all I do is point those out much to the irritation of fanboys.

We get the combination of "Its a political party, they have to make compromises and do horse trading, and things like Universal Healthcare, UBI, debt cancellations, all that is pie in the sky, maybe in ten, twenty or thirty years if we win enough elections we can revisit this" with "How dare you not have unwavering devotion, loyalty and cheer for this party, it is the radiant light of civilization, goodness, and all that is holy on this Earth, to even dine to question or doubt is fascism!" kind of thinking.

I mean some of this comes from the consequentialist thinking they display, which is "Well you have to vote blue no matter who or you are supporting Trump" and they have cast Trump as equal parts super Hitler, Voldemort, and Palpatine all wrapped into one. So if one operates from "The other team is so evil, absolute evil" than any sacrifices to morality, integrity, values, really ANY price is worth paying to stop what is cast as ultimate evil.

On MMO-C we learn that Anti-Fascism is locking arms with corporations, the State Department and agreeing with the CIA, But opposing the CIA and corporate America, and thinking Jews have a right to buy land and can expect tenants to pay rent THAT is ultra-Fash Nazism. It’s not about teams... Trump is not a team. Trump is an individual that is prone to fucks up, like everyone else. Unlike everyone else, we don’t get our fuck ups defended because we are a team.

It has to be Warren... her brother just died of COVID-19... I don’t think she will stand for any Trump bullshit.

I missed this edit--was going to ask if you meant to call this thread irrelevant, but it likely is, and I don't care either way. As to your remark itself, I'll tell you what: don't hypocritically try to chide others for saying "fuck the poor" and I won't repeatedly embarrass you with evidence of you saying that very thing.

That would be interesting if Michele Obama did take the offer, but even Biden says he knows she won't and hasn't even hinted at wanting it.

Personally I think it will be Warren, shes even publicly stated if offered the VP position she'll accept.

Side note, I think we'll see Sanders offer a position as well. I think he'll make a good replacement for Ben Carson as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

Yeah, I've seen her name mentioned a lot. Also want to remind people to donate to Sara Gideon, who as of February was beating Susan Collins 43 to 42%, and Amy McGrath, who's neck and neck with McConnell.

ETA: And Jaime Harrison, too, who's neck and neck with Lindsey Graham.

I don’t post talking heads... unless it’s psycho killer...

As an example, the video linked above, makes two interesting statements. One, that the voting for lesser of two evils has been prominent through history and hat we are to imagine it leads to nuclear war. The thing is, that is a false dichotomy. What if at some point in history, a candidate deserves such ire? What if a candidate is presented as a racist oligarch, who is actually a racist oligarch?

The actual politics that video endorses, is to not campaign on personal merit, but to convince enough people to not vote for your opponents. It makes it so Trump doesn’t have to present policy, all he has to do is chant ‘lock her up’ and troll Bernie supporters to not vote Biden, as he has been doing.

The GOP's only hope at this point is two-fold. Voter suppression in key states/counties, like we saw in WI - or BARRing that (yes, I went there), they will outright steal those same states/counties through key GOP SecStates and County Commissioners.

Nov 3 and the days leading up to and after will be some of the most important days in our country's history.
how is picking a token minority going to galvanize the entire dnc base? yes they would probably get that section's vote but the dnc constitutes more than just that voting bloc.

She would be a great progressive choice - as well as meeting the female requirement that he promised. Even with her brother's death, I still think it will be Abrams - but you make a VERY good point.

On that note, if it's not Warren, then she is free to go on a MAJOR offensive against Trump. I sincerely hope she does. Gloves off.

Agreed re Michelle - Biden did say he'd take her in a heartbeat, but at the same time knows she would never accept.

It would be good/great to either hint or leak or outright say that Sanders will be offered a cabinet position in the Biden administration. Would go a long ways to uniting the DNC.

There are five or six solid Senate seats that are going to be competitive now in Nov. I can't imagine a world where McConnell would lose his seat, but it would be an amazing one to live in.

Joe Biden's nomination and the failure of Kamala, Booker, and Buttigieg to get their respective niche demographic's slavish loyalty should disprove that notion.

    AOC endorsed Biden.

I hear on reddit their erasing any posts mentioning this news and banning people.

Yeah that's because they know if there's free expression and open-debate their ideas won't be able to win. What do you do when your policy ideas fail? The only thing they can do is try to prevent dissenting opinions from being heard in the first place.
