She'd been a useful ally against the legion.
She'd been a useful ally against the legion.
X'sara
Because she was forcing him to serve the light. The video "Reject of the Gift" actually gives you all the answers for that question.
Because the Light being forced upon people, as demonstrated in the Mag'har recruitment quests, is not a good thing.
The path of the exalted can be paved with blood and fire as much as the path of darkness can. And the Naaru border on malevolent at times, I feel... What if Velen had stood and fought for Argus instead of listening to the magic wind chimes and fleeing? Illidan realized what Velen, for all his wisdom, was too blinded to see- that his destiny was his own and that he didn't need X'era's gift to fight the Legion, especially with the manner in which it was granted to him.
Careful, do not confuse Xe'ra and XXX Sara.
Made that mistake when googling once, got all stupid Naaru pictures.
he's a massive hypocrite and will force people to bend to his will without a second thought but refuses to let the same happen to him.
You mean Xe'ra, the Light Mother?
Illidan spent tens of thousands of years in confinement and was promised power for another form of confinement. He's been offered this deal other times before, and he knows the pattern of the kinds of masters who promise great things in exchange for obedience. Maybe they could have proven Illidan wrong ultimately, but considering how he was literally being ensnared by the light in bindings Illidan had all the proof he needed to know exactly what kind of being Xe'ra was and the kinds of things they would ultimately make him do later if not immediately.
Illidan's dilemma was obvious: slay her, or be forced into bondage to yet another master - and Illidan would not be jailed again.
She touched him in a bad place.
Dickmann's Law: As a discussion on the Lore forums becomes longer, the probability of the topic derailing to become about Sylvanas approaches 1.
Tinkers will be the next Class confirmed.
Because Illidan is an hypocrite who is perfectly fine with ruining other people's lives under the excuse that "Much must be sacrificed to end the Legion", but when it's his turn he pussies out. Those light tattoos didn't even look that bad.
The Void. A force of infinite hunger. Its whispers have broken the will of dragons... and lured even the titans' own children into madness. Sages and scholars fear the Void. But we understand a truth they do not. That the Void is a power to be harnessed... to be bent by a will strong enough to command it. The Void has shaped us... changed us. But you will become its master. Wield the shadows as a weapon to save our world... and defend the Alliance!
I didn't expect Illidan to drive a Citroen, let alone destroy it. That just seems financially irresponsible.
Because she was a sinful, anatomically impossible creature of lust and hedonism.
Maybe the magical windchimes can see the future, and knew that Velen and his Draenai needed the help of Illidan and Azeroth's CHAMPIONS to defeat the Legion. Also if Velen never reached Azeroth, he wouldnt have been there to ask Muru's help, and the Blood Elves probably would have all died off or became fodder for the Legion. A bunch of other naaru let themselves been killed, enslaved, or currupted, likely because they knew their sacrifice was needed for the long game. It wouldnt surprise me that Xera let herself be killed because her destiny was already fulfilled by saving Illidan's soul (Light's Heart), and uniting the Army of the Light with the heros necessary to defeat the Legion. The Bronze Dragonflight sort of acts in a similar way. Shit has to happen for the greater good, even if they have to sacrifice themselves or others. Funny how Illidan "We will sacrifice anything to stop the Legion" Stormrage conveniently forgot that motto when he was on the chopping block this time.
Because she tried to change Illidan into something he didn't want to be, so the only logical ( and epic ) conclusion was to eye beam the shit out of her.
Basically, this. Also, because "EYE YAM MUH SKARZ" and discount high-school nihilism. Every time Illidan blathers on about sacrifice, I feel the urge to point out throwing other people to the wolves so you can amass unimaginable power for yourself doesn't count, even if you feel really bad about it once the corpses are done smoldering.
Be seeing you guys on Bloodsail Buccaneers NA!
