Every single day.
If you count putting it in sleep mode, every day.
If you mean a complete shutdown, every few days, my computer seems to slow down somewhat if it goes days without a proper shutdown.
Every night or every time I leave for hour or more.
I never let my PC run over night.
My work PC in the office is nearly allways running with a restart every friday.
For emergency reasons.
As a computer repair specialist I'll settle this. while you can leave it on for a few days you do needs to shut it down regularly, refusing to shutdown can and will lead to issues, some of the most common being memory leaks, cache getting clogged with junk and cache over flow issues, Linux and MacOS are less susceptible to this but Windows is infamous for it. many issues i fix involve people never shutting down but rather using Sleep or worse hibernate ( Note on this DISABLE IT!! launch CMD in admin and paste this line powercfg /h off ) its a buggy mess that causes issues and waste drive space.
I prefer GIMPS.. If only for the name..
I stopped hibernating my PC because of my Win10 bug not recovering from sleep mode properly. I have to shutdown every night now.
last night before i went to bed? Takes like 10 second to start up, why would i want it on all night unless i'm downloading a huge game? :s

I shut mine off every night before going to sleep. Leaving it on would only increase the energy bill further
...that's just my opinion, anyway.
All of this cosmological stuff is too boring for me. I'd like to get Warcraft back, please. my thing is killing defias and orcs.
Whenever I'm done for the day. Power use is minimal, but why use power when I don't need to?
As others have said - updated to SSDs. Start times are minimal.
Nice, I was contemplating upgrading the HDD to a SSD for faster response time on loading etc for games but for now with all money i've spent on build I think I will let the HDD have it's time and upgrade to 2 or even maybe 3TB SSD when they hit sales again
Side note: if people are using windows 10 I also recommend switching off Fast boot in advanced power options, also allows the machine to fully shut down properly.
Boots up in 2 seconds anyway, i shut it off when im not using it seems wastefull to leave it on.

I shut it off daily. In fact, since telling windows to shut off only puts it in some kind of standby mode that let's it boot up quicker, I made a shortcut on my desktop to run the shutdown /s /f /t 0 command to ensure it shuts off properly.
Running windows from an M.2 nvme ssd basically means booting up takes a matter of seconds anyway, and shutting it off properly ensures that RAM are correctly freed up in case any of the games I run suffer from memory leaks.
