- Christopher HitchensPopulists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.
Well yes but I see it as simpler than that but honestly I give credit to anyone with patience trying to explain it I To people too fucking stupid to get it. And stupidity is a choice it’s not ignorance.
Oppression is not people being nice enough or as nice as other people think.
Oppression is about position of ability. Anyone of those cops could have told that officer to let him up. Meanwhile a block full of bystanders saying the same thing got ignored and That’s privilege.
People with the free right to exist and be visible with their love in the same capacity as another is the same thing.
But as I said these people choose not to get it and think acting the loudest is going to be credible.
The next thing you know billionaires and celebrities will march once they decided they are being oppressed.
Maybe super models feel oppressed by ugly people.
Oppression isn’t a matter of perspective it’s a matter of reality.

Lol, what.
Nothing about COVID-19 has shifted me any further in support of a militarized police state. In fact, after seeing how cops behaved when confronted with an armed gang descending on government property, I really am running out of reasons to give a shit about the police.
Calling them to protect my property? They might kill an innocent bystander. I'd rather be out a television than be complicit in my black or latino neighbour getting shot.
Calling them to stop a crime in progress? Well thanks to SCOTUS they aren't required to do that even if they observe one, so. No guarantee there.
All of the other "public emergency" shit merits the Fire Department, not the pigs.
So, it begs the question...what are cops good for in this country?

Buttercup you seem to be projecting. Having empathy for people that are having their lives upended/destroyed but have absolutely nothing to do with this situation other than living and working in the general vicinity of something tragic/outrageous that happened is not the sign of someone who lacks empathy. There is plenty of empathy to go around for those that deserve it, but the looters and arsonist are not among those that deserve it.
No, you didn't answer it.[/QUOTE]
Just because you reject the answer doesn’t mean you didn’t get one or they’re obligated to give you the one you like.
