Drustvar is a pretty great experience. Nice and creepy ambiance with witches. Best questing zone of BFA imo.

Isn't it just more effective to level in BFA to get a high level neck piece and azerite gear? Unless of course you have heirlooms.

Oh my god this is the worst thing ever and ActiBlizz are terrible and actually the worst and I can list like 50000 unrelated issues which all exacerbate this cos like this game is so shit and i haven't played it for 6 years but i'm complaining about it daily

The item levels will be adjusted (one would assume), so your overall ilvl should be the same whether you level in BFA or another expansion. The azerite traits will likely either not work or be inactive a few levels in once you're in SL, so their impact would be minimal at best.

I feel your pain brother. I haven't played Go Fish or War in like 30 years or something and I complain about it daily as well. Now they won't let me in the library anymore.

BFA is decent. It has good graphics fidelity and a tidely designed questing flow.

What did suck was TBC and WOTLK leveling up until 7.3.5. 60-80 bracket was very heavily complained about, to the point of Blizzard nerfing exp required in these levels by 40%. These zones are very outdated by this point, especially Outlands with their 4% drop chance "collect X things" quests.

If i was to rank leveing zones by a combined factor of fun and speed it would be:

    1) WOD
    2) Legion
    3) Classic 1-60 zones
    4) BFA
    5) Cataclysm
    6) Pandaria
    7) Northrend
    8) Outlands

WOD wins by a wide margin, with Gorgrond being able to push you from 92 to 100 without much of a problem. There are 7 bonus objectives worth 200k+ experience each, you got another 7 "big elite" kill hand-ins for major experience too, regular quests also have the highest experience gain out of all WOD zones. The quests are also fun to do with very little annoying high-density areas to traverse. No escorts, no low drop rate farms. 10/10 questing experience in there.

Legion is a tad lower, because rares and treasures aren't awarding much exp anymore and bonus objectives are the most hated type of quest - fill a bar to 100%. WOD bonus objectives were just typical world quests, with listed objectives - kill 12 orcs, kill 1 big orc and free 6 parrots. No stupid bar fill quests. Otherwise, zones are decent and quest flow is good. Invasions help with speed-leveling.

Now the third place might be a surprise but post-Cata revamped Classic zones are excellent questing areas. Especially things like Elwynn Forest which has double EXP for some reason (and Elwynn quests are very quick and easy to do).

Cataclysm and MOP for me is roughly on par, slightly leaning towards Cata. Hyjal and Deepholm are my favorites. You can fly without any restrictions in there and exp flows very fast.

Now the bad ones. Northrend is just boring for me. I did it sooo many times that I just can't stand it anymore. Exp flows are okay after 7.3 nerfs, before that it was a slog. Northrend bracket has really shit dungeons. I really hate dungeons in this level range and avoid them like a plague

And lastly, Outlands which is by far the worst questing area of them all. The quests are something you could expect from Classic WoW - high travel time, high kill count for objectives, very low drop rates for collection quests. Very clunky to level in there unfortunately. But 60-70 has the best dungeons to level in my opinion. I really love TBC dungeons and usually just chain queue them to get past this bracket. Before dungeon exp nerf i would just roll a tank or healer spec and never leave the town in this level range.

    Ohh please yes.

I fear so much, that they will make the leveling experience so fast, that you can't even get to enjoy a single expansion O.o No point in choosing Outland, if im already done when i hit Nagrand :/
May the lore be great and the stories interesting. A game without a story, is a game without a soul. Value the lore and it will reward you with fun!

The pictures together with the expansions are spot on.

Genuinely looking forward to this. To spend the whole leveling time in TBC is gonna be great

Draenor would be my pick usually. It's so refreshing and fun to level up just by picking treasures and doing a couple "world quests" in a couple of zones, whatever their names are that give like 60% of level on completion.

For some reason in Pandaria only about half of treasures give exp. And in Broken Isles and BFA isles maybe 5% of treasures give exp, and the "world quests" about 50% less exp than Draenor ones.

I remember some time ago when the concept of having Chromie be used as an introduction to which story/time you wanted to explore was mentioned within the community as a solution to making the leveling process a little less janky so that's kind of neat.

Which then finished off by rewarding the player with a premium title. I don't care much about the bee mount but the "Inquisitor" title is what I was the most jealous about as a Horde Paladin main.

it's designed so each expansion can take you from 10-50. You pick outland youre going from Hellfire all the way through to Shadowmoon and Netherstorm

This. The baseline idea they're going by is "If you are level 10 and do BfA content, the 3 main zones should get you from 10 to 50."

So just consider how long it'll take to get through Tiragarde Sound, Drustvar and Stormsong and that's how long it'll take to get to 50, by default, without heirlooms and buffs.

once you are on Chromie Time, every expansion is tuned 10-50 for you. but it is useless to jump around in the whole story, you better stay in one addon and solve the 40 lvl walk.

    No, thanks then.
K bye. The game was never meant for you then.

Why not just remove levels all together? Give all the spells and such to the player off the bat with better versions of them coming as you progress through the story and get better gear?

See, they say that, but not all expansions are equally long. I fear, that they will design the leveling for the shorter expansions and therefore make long expansions, like TBC, feel speed-up and cut off.

I'll be less of a jerk than the other guy about it. Yes, you will have to level up to 50 before doing shadowlands and they will make you do i through BFA content (which is actually pretty good for leveling so give it an honest chance). That said, if you buy shadowlands now, you can get a 120 boost and skip all that.

Definitely a concern, but they will have to tune each expansion individually in terms of quest xp and whatnot anyway since the # of zones and density changes pretty dramatically from BFA to say...BC. or even azeroth. there are probably 4 times the number of zones as any expansion but you still have to end up hitting 50 so they'll have to figure out something.

The nice thing is - as it is now with the level scaling - you will be free to move about zones so if you want to see Blades Edge and Netherstorm, just skip some of the nonsense quests in nagrand and zangermarsh and whatnot and move on.

What I am really hoping for is that they retrofit the new "main quest" icons to old content so that you can actually tell which quests in Hellfire are necessary to progress and which arent.

There are bar fill bonus objectives in WoD but they aren't annoying as shit like the ones in Legion and BFA because the bar fills quickly vs 2% per mob 5% per interactive thing on the ground in BFA.
