Help with a new budget PC

    Hello!

New great games are releasing that I do not want to play on PS4 so I would like to investing a little bit into a new PC.

The current spec is very old (AMD 8320 & GTX660) and simply not enough anymore.

My budget is rahter slim - 1000 EUR (or better 25000CZK) and I don't need any peripherals. I would love to play games such as DOOM Eternal, Cyberpunk 2077, new CoDs - mostly first person shooters.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Thank you!

I have a 500W Fortron PSU, any chance it could handle this spec?

Also Alza has a deal for Motherboard + 240GB SSD for free - https://www.alza.cz/asus-rog-strix-b...g-d5363067.htm would it be a good alternative to your MB + SSD?

The motherboard is okay, but the SSD they bundle with it is pretty shit

    I see :/

What about the PSU? Any chance I could get away with that one?

Corsair VS series is low tier. That particular model is mediocre at best, with questionable 12v rail overcurrent protections. Imho, you don't want to cut corners on PSUs.

Never use old PSU with new hardware, also SeaSonic is much more trustworthy than some Forton. Also this budget isn't slim at all

Also I would take gtx 1070Ti or gtx 1080 (used) instead new RX 5600 XT

You could. You shouldn't. As old as your PC is, it's time for a new PSU. Find any of the PSU hierarchy lists online and find one for your budget. Or pick the one linked above.

You don't want a cheap crappy PSU because you can spend months chasing random errors and crashes around, and find out it was the PSU all along.

A used GTX 1080 is ~200€+, absolutely not worth it compared to a 5600XT since it's slower and probably has no warranty left.

    @OP
Hextor's build is good. Only thing I would recommend is getting a Bitfenix Formula Gold PSU instead for ~5€ more, it's a lot better. Consider a larger SSD also, 512GB is quickly used by modern games.

Your first mistake was using userbenchmark, which is a worthless site that should not be used for anything, ever.

A 5600XT is very slightly faster than a RTX 2060, which is even with or very slightly faster than a GTX 1080. This is info you can find in many reviews.

I do think Userbenchmarks method of score aggregation is very wrong. However, they don't hide the score break down from you. It's right there below the aggregate so you can draw your own conclusions. They also show the distribution of user scores so you can tell where you are likely to fall as well. Also how is a site that has hundreds of thousands of benchmarks bad? I understand it might not be accurate because of different sets of hardware, overclocks, benchmarking conditions, etc. But I think it is a great way to approximately check how good a component is compared to some other ones. I'm sure that techpowerup benchmarks didn't have hundreds of data send to them, and 5600 XT bios failure shouldn't be rewarded by buying this card.

also there are other sites that say gtx 1080 is slightly better:

I guess 5600 XT is better - if you care about temps and power consumption

If you were looking to buy a decent system from the big computer assemblers, you would expect to pay at least $700. However, you don’t need to spend $700 in order to get a gaming computer that will deliver a good experience.

In fact, for right around $400, you can build a budget system that will allow you to play games like Rocket League, League of Legends, Dota 2, and Fortnite on higher settings at 1080P resolution.
