Where did we get to the point where Biden vs. Trump are the best candidates?

No one wants to run for president anymore because it is too stressful?

I like Biden, but he has stuttering issues.

Have you not been paying attention? There were multiple people running. It's just that people wanted Biden.

And him having stuttering issues is fine. It's not much of a character flaw.

Could never vote left wing all the time they control most of the media and blatantly lie.

For every time Trump has made a questionable statement the media have made 10 more lies about him.

Biden is a disaster though. You have got to be nuts to vote for him.

Trump is mostly a victim of left wing bias media than he is bad president.

I'm going to need some evidence to back up all these claims.

    Thanks.

Wow, really - gotta just keep ringing this bell, eh? Or did you forget how many people initially ran for the Democratic nod? I can get you some links if you need help.

    Lol, hilarious!

FYI the media don't need to lie about Trump and never have. He proves how awful of a person he is every single day without any need for help from anybody. He just opens his mouth and the foul miasma that are his thoughts and beliefs pop out.

Well, considering I got him to call himself a Nazi, yesterday, I'm not expecting a whole lot of actual evidence.

And then you watch a video of Trump actually saying these "bad things" and realise either Clinton/Obama have said exactly the same things before, but the media haven't said anything about them, or the sentence was cherry picked and taken totally out of context.

For example - Every president in modern USA history has financially backed funding the wall.

Including Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama.

With many previous presidents actually building sections of wall too.

Or how about Barack Obama placing similar travel restrictions into the USA for immigrants that what Trump did.

Trump got plenty of media attention for that.

    Obama no.

Can't support the hypocrisy of the left at all.

Trump is going to win again because the media lies fuel a populist vote and many people see right through the lies.

    Hillary was never President.

    You really should lie less.

The Democrat base rejected the idea of making 2020 a "Referendum on Socialism". This has made anti-democrats into *sad campers*.

They chose the candidate with the most overall appeal and made 2020 a referendum on the "Disaster of a Trump Reelection."

Biden Polling 10+ since the end of the primary has vindicated their choice.

Being senile is a irreconcilable candidate flaw in most democracies. The problem with the US presidential system is that it's basically down to "bad or worse"; that the system itself is primed to allow politicians to force-feed voters with two obviously compromised candidates, and essentially force them to vote for the least bad option.

By no one you mean a lot of people? did you miss 2016 and 2020 there were so many people running in the primaries you couldn't name them all.

Stuttering is not senility. Biden has always had a stutter.

Watching Trump speak is like watching a two year old who is mad you took his toy have a stroke and a tantrum at the same time. And then the two year old starts to lie accusing you of things he did. Watching him speak risks giving any intelligent adult a brain aneurysm.

Also what populist wave? Trump lost the popular vote by over 3 million. One of if not the largest popular vote lost by anyone to become president. He only won because of political socialism which I was told Republicans don't like.

Trump is going to win again because his average supporter is even less intelligent than you and the conservatives get a nice political handicap via the EC.

You are right, stuttering isn't indicative of senility.

Emotional instability and the inability to properly recall past incidents of significant relevance are, however, pretty damning markers of senility.

Even though I doubt that this thread was made in good faith...

Biden vs Trump aren't the best candidates. In general, the best candidates don't want the job. Even the absolute best Presidents who try hard to do the right thing have been deeply hated by a non-insignificant amount of the US population, not to mention the world.

Add to that the fact that people as a society can't even decide what qualities they even want in a President, and it's hard. If you were to ask ME, I don't need the smartest or most capable person in the role. I want a leader, someone who can take the information from their advisors (Which is actually where I want the smartest and most capable people!), make the final decision, and live with the results. My ideal President is defined by the quality of people they surround themselves with, and that's not something you really see in an election. But that's just me, ask around and you'll get nearly as many different definitions as you find people to ask.

By that standard you and most posters here are senile.

The largest, by far. Compare to 2000, where Bush lost the popular vote by barely 500k.
