I do have game pass and after the whole Hong Kong incident (with Blizzard supporting an openly genocidal government) I can't see myself spending a dime at Blizzard products. I might chance my mind later on but I am still very dissapointed with the company, one that I supported for decades. Its hard to ignore what they are doing. Gamepass is cool but I sub it mostly because of my older son.

I gave two justifications but I didn't answer the base question? Your reading comprehension sucks.

It costs less for a month than I earn in like 30 minutes, so its really easy to justify even if I played a few hours a week. I don't see the issue here

There is no need to justify it to anyone since everyone has to decide for themselves if it is worth.

You can also be damn sure that blizz. has analyzing staff that would lower the price if they think the incoming players would offset it and make a profit, that'll probably never be the case though.

Amazon prime video is basically free since I'm allready prime.
Yet I still pay for Netflix.

Pretty obvious IMO, I don't know why it needed 5 pages...
WoW isn't on game pass thus if you want to play wow, you pay for it. Reeeeally as simple as that.
Who the fuck play soccer because "hey I hate it but it's cheaper than archery that I love". If you can afford what you want to do, just do it.

I gave up on any games with subs are its just forces me to play same game over and over again or it fells like i trow a money away.
Same goes for any game pass or season pass or whatever.

Also..for those who are still paying wow sub with money, check how much it came out over the years. You will probaly be disgusted with yourself. (i was)

Realy anything that is a service type of deal is mostly a scam. Remember how nintendo is still scamming us with a internet sub.

Not disgusted at all with what I've paid over the years. I was getting a ton of value for my dollar. Still hands down the best value I've ever gotten from a video game and it is even better now that I'll never have to pay another dime thanks to my gold getting me eternal Bnet balance. If you feel 'forced' to play the same thing over and over then yes MMOs and many other games aren't for you. I've rarely felt "FORCED" to do anything in gaming outside of some grinding here or there which is expected in the genre.

For me it's always the same : How many hours did i play this game.

If i played for more hours than it cost me to buy it, then yes it was worth it. 15$/month sub fee, if i played more than 15 hours that month then yes it was worth. And i know i did way more than that at some points. So even the cost of the box was worth it with all the hours i've put into the game.

It's way easier to check like that. "Is this game worth buying" becomes "will i play more than X hours of this game".

I would rather own my games than rent them.

After playing a heap of f2p mmos, I will gladly pay a subscription, the box price and for the expansions. F2P model is just pure greed, you end up paying way more over the longer run, or you end up resenting the game for being built to annoy you in to paying.

Yeah because I play WoW and am not interested in other games at the moment

The monthly sub is like buffet in a restaurant.
    It is not for everyone.

The sad part is that the companies prefer subscription business model, because many people pay for it but not use it.
For example, many raiders are forced to keep sub right now, because they are afraid to loss their raid spots.

not really. I've spent more on my other hobbies. I spend more on my current streaming subscriptions. I own DVD's of movies and show box sets that I enjoy enough to want to rewatch without worrying if steaming service will still have them available. I still subscribe, cause they provide extra content that interests me.

its NOT a scam if they provide the content that they advertised you will get when you subscribe.

and btw, its not just nintendo that asks you to pay to play online - with playstation, you need ps plus for most things.

I pay for my sub since January 2005. Its been running without interruption, I spent money on server transferts (multiple caracters), race change, etc. I havent play in 6 months, it still runs. No I'm not "disgusted" with myself, I cherish the time I spent and the time I will spend when I come back for Shadowlands. I'd do it all over again.

This is sort of a weird area for me.

Do I wish WoW were cheaper? Yes.
Will I still pay the same price? Yes.

I pay XBox Game Pass (5/mo) to play games that I grind through in a week or two, usually. I've played wow for 16 years. There isn't another game I could play so long, except maybe EVE if I did so.

Is WoW worth $2800? Hard to say. Over 16 years... Maybe? Is my insurance for my car worth $30,000 since I've had it? Hell no. And yet its still a thing. While its not necessary. sometimes value isnt the same as enjoyment.

    *boom* Justified.
    Exactly this....

Different things have different values to different people.... so, yes, I can justify paying the WoW sub fee because I still like playing wow.
