Inb4 "The First Ones" turn out to be an allegory for the current writers because of having their heads so far up their behinds entirely unlike the Titans.
And that would be worse than near eternal servitude, damnation or service forced upon them by said judging? They are gonna have to try real hard to justify why the Arbiter is even necessary when she's "fixed".By every joy and sorrow, the Arbiter judges all mortal souls and sets them on their intended path. Without her guidance, those souls would be forever lost within the infinite realms of the Shadowlands.
What is this baloney? So I guess they're just chucking out the whole "Emerald Dream was a reflection of Azeroth" thing and making it a branch that goes who knows where.Ardenweald and the Emerald Dream are opposite blooms connected to the same tree. If the Dream is the personification of life in the waxing stage, the Ardenweald is life when it is waning.
I honestly hope they never tell us what he did, they'd never be able to do it justice. But even their crimes cannot compare to those of their Jailer.
Funny that she then completely ignored Bolvar and his existence for several years after, died in the immediate expansion following and developed a sudden urge to perpetuate eternal nonliving until she suddenly didn't want that in BfA... during which she resurrected a bunch of dead elves and people. It also doesn't make sense to call it the "Crown of the False King" considering Arthas literally was a King as well as King of the Scourge and not the dead as a whole. In fact it'd make more sense to say Crown of the False Jailer considering that's why Bolvar was originally wearing the helm, to be the Jailer of the Damned. He would send those val’kyr to serve as her tethers to mortality. A pact needed to be made. Only then could she return beyond the veil. Only then will the Banshee Queen claim the crown of the false king.
This has been on my mind for a while as I've wondered why is this the case? As shown in the Maw rescue missions souls are just hanging about until the Mawsworn get to torturing and forging them into more Mawsworn but who were the initial torturers? Was it the Jailer? Did he spend his early days of imprisonment begging for irredeemable souls and chasing them around and trying to convince them to pretty please be his army? Why does the Arbiter even give him souls in the first place? Why does this system legit not make sense? What is known is rumor, and the rumor is a nightmare. His soldiers are the very worst the damned have to offer and are eternally loyal to the very hand that broke them.
Yeah I think I might be done with taking Lore seriously this expansion. It's just been delivering some pretty poor and unsupported retcons and frankly underwhelming lore revelations and I doubt they're going to stop at the "Jailer has been trying to invade Azeroth since before Warcraft 3 using a helm he lost/that got stolen/consented to having some random Orc shoved in it and frozen".The veil between realms wanes. The Helm of Domination was crafted to be our way forward; instead, the one seared by the flames of life uses it to keep us at bay.
