I've never even heard of Gallywix, have they been around for long?

His parents gave him 253 THOUSAND dollars and a bunch of his other family members gave him money too.

But I'll give you Jan Koum.

Buffett was not self-made. He literally rode the backs of other companies before making enough in salary to start something. He also got a $10,000 donation from several people before going into business. I'm not gonna count receiving donations as being self-made because he didn't even work for that money. 11 people gave him 10k and he only put 100 of his own money into the project. Other people's donations are the only reason he was able to start anything up to become wealthy.

And once again, nobody gets to being multi-millionaires and billionaires on their own. It's been proven time and again that people in those brackets are corrupt, exploit their work force, and use loopholes so they never pay taxes. Jeff Bezos is worth $181 billion yet paid zero in taxes for 2019.

I don't know who the hell these people are, but i just started playing wow again and trade chat is nothing but people selling carries. If they're the ones responsible for that, then good riddance!

Jeff bezos pays income tax and capital gains tax on whatever stock he sells I assure you he is not stupid enough to commit tax fraud. He also wasn't worth $181 billion dollars in 2019 so I'm not sure why that number is relevant to the discussion. If you're going to argue get you facts straight.

$253 000 is not actually that much money most homeowners could get that from remortgaging a house which while very risky is fairly common when investing in a family business.

Your post is contradictory you admit that there is at least one person who when for "rags to riches" then say that no one can do it. If you want further examples you can look at a lot of athletes who come from low income households and are now multimillionaires.

Your premise is also purposefully skewed. Yes the odds of going from low income to multimillionaire or billionaire status is very low but what are the odds of rising from the lower class to middle or upper middle class? Do you think financial mobility is higher under a socialist system than a capitalist one?

oh noes. what a hit - now those guys wont recover

oh wait - they will just buy new accounts , boost toons from f...ck ton of $$$$ they made and rename brand

this will surerly stop their actions for those 5-6 hours needed to regear via mythic +

A lot of people still sell runs. Gallywix was more like a union or federation of boosters and boostees(?) that rather than someone being limited to their own server they could access players anywhere to get various boosts.

But even with them being in limbo right now the spam is still there its just the same people who were boosting just doing the spam themselves directly to the server.

What does any of this real world political discussion have to do with a community on a game being banned?

RWIT is a type of theft from Blizzard. It's like going to the grocery store and picking up a loaf of bread to sell to another person for less than the shelf price without ever paying for it yourself.

You can say it's no big deal or that Blizzard deserves it, but at the end of the day it's reasonable for them to take it seriously, and they have the right to crack down on it.

If they decided that RWIT was fine despite this, it would cause more problems that we would all feel: An increase in botting resource nodes. Rampant scams from unregulated third party dealers that Blizzard's customer support would have to deal with. Even more spam in Trade and instance chats. Undermining the integrity of the game, where instead of being more or less a meritocracy, it would turn into a system where real life wealth buys success.

Damn, for Blizzard to actually take action against people doing RMT and boosting, Gallywix must have been funding Hong Kong resistance or something.

thats a strawman,we are talking about financial systems here, also its arguable if capitalism has led to more deaths
It isn't a straw man. Financial systems are fundamentally tied to government systems. Every single time communism has been tried it has resulted in millions of deaths. As horrific as it sounds, German fascistic socialism lead to fewer deaths than communism by a wide margin. How many times does communism have to result in mass graves before we decide that it isn't fashionable or cool?

Pure communism promises a utopia that is wholly unrealistic. In the case of communism, everyone will come together and work together for the common good, always putting the needs of others above themselves, and then the state would naturally wither away as unneeded. Communism assumes greed, selfishness, stupidity, materialism, want, and desire will all cease to exist.

This is of course wildly unrealistic. So, time and time again, communist leaders start with the stepping stone of full socialism. They then use violence and threats of violence to try and brute force their way towards communism. This of course fails as people aren't keen on being shipped off to die in work camps or mass graves. So the cycle repeats with the communists committing genocide against their own people over and over until something changes.

Yeah sure, Blizzard really hates it when get get 7$ for each token bought. Buying WoW tokens is not RMT, how can you even come up with such a stupid idea.

The key word is feel. How can you have a feeling about that.

What I find odd is that Blizzard wants to punish buyers. It should not be required to check Blizzards blueposts to figure out if a purchase with gold is legal or not.

    Advertiser from Gally here.

I like all the salt from people that don't have gold to buy a boost, don't be naive to think that Blizzard is against boosting, as long as you buy tokens they are ok.

The problems are the bad apples that get paid with RMT like some famous streamer with biceps cough or Advertiser/booster from 3rd country were wow Gold Is more valutabile than their local currency.

You are there rejoicing that they are gonna cancel Gally, not gonna happen I'm sorry, while there are Chinese RMT site that sell gold and items and still are there.

Blizzard should ban the RMT Bois? Sure af.

But this is gonna be like Method/Echo, 1-2 months hiatus and back to business in Shadowlands

lol, plenty of comunist countries that havent resulted in deaths, cuba is actualy a country that did fairly well, far better than what was before atleast, vietnam is doing ok these days,my own country used to be in the soviet block and i can tell you for sure that there was no ''milions of deaths'',in fact the older people today remember that period with fondness as they could afford anything they needed, something that today isnt the case

also,no current or past comunist country ever claims/claimed they are a comunist country but rather strive for the ideal of it

and again,im not defending it,wile people in my country for example remember it with good memories, even in an utopian version i wouldnt want to live in a true comunist regime as i do prefer to have my own business and own more than maybe i would really need, but thats not even the case in comunist countries today as people do own stuff like in china

I dont think people have issues with these services because they maybe cant afford it,thats just silly, people mostly hate it because of the spam, because when they open the group finder 90% is advertisement, also i find it odd that you say RMT should be banned....but...wasnt gally doing that?or am i missing something here

also blizzard could easily fix this by opening up a dedicated channel/group finder simply for these things,my guild also boosts for gold and it gets rly annoying getting muted every day and unmuted after a quick ticket because blizzard itself isnt sure on what its own rules about this is

40y old boomers crying for Trade Chat spam because they can't use Trade Chat like a forum asking stuff that you can ask on forums.

Now that Blizzard is investigating and boosting community are hiding, the trade chat are empty because nobody cares to talk to other people on Live.

    This is hilarious

Old people remembering it fondly means nothing. Some people in Russia to this day hold Stalin in high regard. World seems better when you are young, get certain freebies from the gov and propaganda pumps your brain for decades. I also come from Soviet block country, and we also didn't have millions of killed, but repression was there. No freedom of speech, kidnappings, torture and murders were not uncommon. Friends father got sent to do 3y of forced, hard labour in mine, because they found an old, rusty rifle in his house. It ruined his health.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

You think what you say matters when you're an advertiser, the lowest "rank" there is? Nobody cares about the advertisers. I mean.. come on.
    Hi

  19. #79
On communism: the nicer you expect people to be, the less likely that system is going to work out as planned. On the other hand giving assholes free reign means you are going to live in hell.

Same goes for gold selling: Blizzard knows that they cannot fully prevent it, because people want to cheat and advance without actually playing the game. That's why the Blizzard RMT exist, and that's why they usually overlook small traders. But as soon as anyone becomes too disruptive they will remove them.

You really think I am gonna care about what somebody with a PORN SITE in signature, have to say?

My "lowest" rank was making me 5 milions per week, while you flip burgers to buy tokens.
