Nah it’s the same with all services like this including boosting on classic wow. They’ll ask you something like “Are you wanting to pay with gold or PayPal?”

There’s so much money to be made in WoW. Especially now that the pandemics hit. My GM on classic started boosting to make money after corona cost him his job, but he isn’t planning to go back after it’s better since he’s making more from this in less time spent.

As long as the markets there people will come to fill the need. And blizzards customer service department are at an all time low.

Well that sucks. I planned on using Gallywix to get my rank 3 C&S since I assumed they did everything with gold. Looks like I'll just skip that essence, it's the only one I don't have anyways.

Don't buy a boost for this. Spend an evening (depending on skill of course) doing random arenas though the LFG system. You can't lose rating in arenas until you're above 1400 rating. After you reach anything above 1400 rating you can stop. Then you just need 5 weeks of getting conquest bar filled which can be done through battlegrounds, supply chests that drop in war mode or doing the faction assault world quests.
You don't ever need to go into arenas again for C&S3 or conquest, and you don't need to max out a bar every week (doesn't have to be consecutive).

Not a huge fan of boosting services so one going down i see as a good thing. If everyone can get any item, mount, title, or whatever regardless of skill level and time investment it makes those things seem less valuable and worth going after. Could you imagine if when a new tier/season hit all the rewards from it were put on the official store for gold.

This obviously was RMT - for years now. Imagine a higher-up making about 50 million gold a month(that's prob nothing to what the cut of the higher-ups really was). If this "manager" sold that for a little bit less than the wow Token prices he made around 6k $$$ a month. For doing nothing but earning the cut. It's so stupid. All communities with a structure like this should be banned. It's so obvious what they are doing.

Actions Taken Against Gallywix And Gold Selling

After performing a thorough investigation, we’ve identified that the Gallywix boosting organization has been taking part in gold selling for real money. Real money trading – also known as RMT – is a serious violation of our End-User License Agreement and is not tolerated, therefore we’ve begun taking action and have banned accounts in North America and Europe that were associated with this group and taking part in the real money trading transactions.

These actions have primarily targeted the Gallywix organization so far, but our investigations are ongoing and additional accounts involved with running this organization may be banned in the future.

Going forward, accounts may receive actions if they are found to be involved in future transactions with Gallywix or are actively advertising it.

Yes, just like any other big guild. But it's not about the players/guilds boosting for gold. It's about the managers who made multiple millions of gold and sold it. These guys never boosted or advertised anything. You have never seen them or heard about them.

I like all the salt from people that don't have gold to buy a boost, don't be naive to think that Blizzard is against boosting, as long as you buy tokens they are ok.


The problems are the bad apples that get paid with RMT like some famous streamer with biceps cough or Advertiser/booster from 3rd country were wow Gold Is more valutabile than their local currency.

Almost every guild in top 100 was, including Limit. Majority of boosts were legit gold only, just someone decided to sell gold for money. Probably one of the higher ups that makes tens of millions a month.

This is not far from the truth. I remember being in the boosting community that came before Gallywix. Those I knew in the top got from 5-25mil gold a month and im sure it has only gotten worse. I myself made 8m gold in 1,5 month at the end of Legion. The guild eventually broke down as it came to light that some of the founders used RMT.

Im happy to be out. It did not feel like a game at all at that point, and I hated the spamming then just as much as I do now, though it has gotten even worse these days. Tbh I didnt even feel like I had really earned the gold as I felt with all my previous gold. Boosting communities really haven't been great for the state of the game. Thats my 2 cent anyway.

I don't think they sold the gold as such. There are third party websites who sell mythic Nyalotha, someone got to do these runs. So the 50 million gold go to guilds doing the boost set up by Galywix whose owners pocketed the €$ from third party websites.
