    Yeah, thats great design - This is unbalanced now so we'll just kill some specs next time around?

    Well we've been told for all of BFA by plenty of rogues and DH's to suck it up and that it isn't an issue, so...

    What kinda of mentality is this? You want to ruin gama balance (even more) over some kinda of vendetta?

    And holy most certainly doesnt bring the same. Holy is already a healer spec. The amount of spot healing ret can dish out is pretty good. It can make a difference in a dungeon enviroment.
    If you are going off of a dungeon environment example then yes ret was indeed nerfed. WoG is only a single target ability in SL compared to what it is in BFA which is a 3 man big heal. As far as anything unique to ret there was only the greater blessings which have also vanished so again why bring a ret when you can have a holy or prot paladin bring the same tools and bring a stronger dps with other utility instead?

    Why dps rankings matter if shadowlands won't deliver fun??

    Actually, looks like a total of 2 lists to me.

    Warlocks/Mages and then EVERYTHING ELSE.

    The balance (if these are based on logs) is actually fantastic from everything outside of Mage/Lock being unbelievably OP in a raiding environment again (Lock's coming up on this being the 3rd expansion as an S Tier PVE Class).

    They do not though.

    Having the top 2 specs be so far ahead they are both clearly S Tier - outliers. The next runner up would make it A Tier which starts with Assassination Rogue, from there you can classify them from the top one... let's say 500 DPS (round number) to make the other tiers...

    S Tier --> (Over-performers) - Range anything higher than 7k
    - Destruction Warlock (9.2k)
    - Beastmaster Hunter (8.3k)
    A Tier --> (Top performers) - Range 7k - 6.6k
    - Assassination Rogue (7k)
    - Fury Warrior (6.9k)
    - Affliction Warlock (6.9k)
    - Havoc Demon Hunter (6.8k)
    - Frost Mage (6.7k)
    - Balance Druid (6.6k)
    B Tier --> (this here is the mid tier...) - Range 6.5k - 6.1k
    - Windwalker Monk (6.5k)
    - Frost Death Knight (6.5k)
    - Feral Druid (6.4k)
    - Retribution Paladin (6.3k)
    - Shadow Priest (6.3k)
    - Demonology (6.2k)
    - Arms Warrior (6.1k)
    C Tier --> (Under-performers) - Range 6k - 5.6k
    - Fire Mage (5.9k)
    - Arcane Mage(5.8k)
    - Elemental Shaman (5.7k)
    - Unholy Death Knight (5.7k)
    D Tier --> (Trash Territory) - Range 5.5k - 5.1k
    - Marksmanship Hunter (5.5k)
    - Subtlety Rogue (5.3k)
    - Enhancement Shaman (5.3k)
    - Outlaw Rogue (5.2k)
    - Survival Hunter (5.2k)

    So, one can clearly see the distribution of the specs, and imo this makes more sense as it has specific ranges within where the specs are currently located in.
    If we were to make an average of DPS to serve as a baseline. Total dps is 152.3 split by 24 specs total equals 6.34583(3).
    So basically 6.3 is the middle meaning that the above distribution is more accurate as B Tier --> (this here is the mid tier...) - Range 6.5k - 6.1k, 6.3k is smack in the middle.

    The only spec I've lost to as a sub rogue so far is aff lock.. your ranking is a little off.

    That data isn't from me... it's from the site from the Shadowlands raid testing.

    The point was to arrange the data into appropriate rankings.

    Just wish they nerf that ranged specs to bring at least equal amount ranged and melee in raids. Its pain to see that 2 melee with like 10 ranged.

    The problem is that m+ is as important pve content as raids are, and melees tend to dominate there. So they need to nerf melee in m+ and buff in raids.

    like they did in SL? aoe cap for melee and softcap for ranged is prime example.

    Those numbers won't be anywhere near accurate even on launch day let alone 1 or 2 months in. The data they're getting from Beta is horribly skewed by people abusing gear scaling using Legion legendaries and BC crafted gear with multiple sockets. There's no way they can make accurate or meaningful balance changes based on people using gear they'll never have in the live game. Hell there are actually people offering to pay on Retail for Legion legendaries with sockets on Beta just so they can be more powerful than intended for testing.

    I'd wait until first balance patch post launch to make any sort of respectable DPS rankings.

    how complete is that raid testing though? I have heard that there are yet to be tests done with legendaries, soulbinds etc

    There is no way of knowing how the tuning will be, and judging from your post you havent played beta. Melees dominate m+ dps in beta atm even with the cap in place.

    Where are they getting logs for the beta? I don't see Castle Nathria listed in warcraftlogs.

    And how are they ranking dps "for both Single Target and AoE situations"? You can't just mix those together and call it a day.
