If you haven’t done it yet, it might be a good idea to just practice positioning for the Evoke Anguish casts. They will be your next big hurdle because some players might try and be greedy or cheat right on a bad beam that can mess up others trying to get out quickly.
Also, assuming everyone is under 40 corruption (good for this progression fight), make sure to tell people to use movement increases (Blink, Disengage, etc) to move AFTER Evoke is dropped, not to get to their spot. The reason being is you will want those movements to get thru the puddles, as well as outrun a beam, if you get a Grasping Tendril corruption proc that slows you down. Cloaks are also good to be saved for that same reason if movement is on CD from bad luck.

Once we are able to get phychus 2 down we are going to take a quick 5-10 and practice positioning for them.

Well shit, with Shadowlands in less than 2 months... we have some work cut out for us.

Don't get discouraged. As with any progression boss, just keep swinging at it and eventually things will just fall into place. The biggest deterrent for progression are fatalistic mindsets.

This is the best advice anyone can give for any progression, on any difficulty. What i find is that during any progression, there are typically a few players who are struggling with mechanics much more than is apparent to raid leads, and even to some extent, themselves. As they become more comfortable with those mechanics, their output will increase, and eventually things just click.

Even back in wrath i vividly remember being stuck on LK for WEEKS on end - we just couldn't fucking down the bastard. We took one night a week for alts and clearing earlier bosses, and gear was NOT the issue. But we just stuck at it, and after what seemed like an eternity, it suddenly just all fell into place. First pull of the night, it was very obvious SOMETHING was different. Even those first few wipes were VERY good attempts - better than anything we had done previously. Then suddenly......he just died (well.....kinda). Someone who had been struggling with the timing had some kind of epiphany and after the fight, they admitted it just felt natural that night.

Long story short, as cliche as it is, practice makes perfect.

Around 70 to 80 wipes total and we almost got the 2nd psychus down.
We also talked with our team last night and we usually only raid wed and Thur and do a bunch of sales on Tuesday but i think since the prepatch is around the corner we are going to just forget sales right now and raid Tue,wed, and thru so we can get CE before its taken away.

We got a very late start this tier so we are hoping to get CE in the next few weeks before they take it away in prepatch.

Just a random update... we are getting close bois (and girlssss)

We are now getting into the secret phase but we haven't gotten into it clean yet. We have been practicing our anguish drops before we start raid and it helped a ton. We went from barely even getting into the second Phychus phase to now seeing secret phase almost everytime. I am hoping we have the kill on Tuesday. Raid is over for the week and no sites of prepatch yet.. so here's to hoping we get CE early next week before they drop the patch on us.

It's enough to have one clean pull with everyone alive after the Secret Phase. Everything after that is just nuke the boss and do the mechanics. Took us 5 or 6 tries after we came out with everyone alive to down him. Maybe the Anguish drops aren't even important nowadays and you can place them wherever. It might be helpful to drop them "as supposed" just to be sure - i.e. 1st one on the left, and everything after that on the right.

It seems as if the pre patch will not hit live servers before 29/30 November.

I think you mean September, otherwise prepatch would be hitting after the expansion launch.

But otherwise agree with this, was like the 3rd or 4th time we had a full raid group survive the secret phase that we got the kill. It's just all about getting through everything before that smoothly. The anguish drops did get a bit out of hand though, as he died with almost the entire floor filled but it's definitely not as dire anymore.

Yes of course it's September... Sorry for that.

Good luck to you OP - I'm sure you'll get CE.

How long ago did you kill it? Just curious because i feel like with the current DPS and corruption that the last anguishes wont matter as much after secret phase versus a few months back.

what % are you getting him to before you go down? If its close to 25 or under, he melts. Like go up, soak, drop anguish, move from beam, drop anguish then stack and burn all in 45 seconds

    Two weeks ago.

I think we were far too leinent with spacing though in the end and got a bit excited to be that far with everyone alive. The first set we dropped fine but past that it got a bit messy.

What’s his health at when you go into the secret phase? If it’s like 40% and under and you’re confident in your dps (everyone up) you can go like this:
First Evokes dropped to the left. Start going to the right for the 2nd set (but not as important just make sure it’s at the back of the room as much as possible). Let the adds cast go off and get the damage buff and burn.
If you aren’t comfortable then do it like normal with 1st Evokes left, 2nd Right, Immunity soaks for a little extra damage (but this means you’ll have another beam to watch for), then let the 2nd casts go off and burn at that point.
It really just comes down to his health coming out of secret phase. If he’s sub 40% the burn strat is completely viable as long as everyone is alive and lives for the full damage buff duration before going insane. The mechanics to deal with are Paranoia with the Push/Pull, Evokes left, 2nd Evokes right, stack and burn while tanks keep adds out for the cast to go off.
Keep in mind, if you haven’t been doing it, you can spend some extra time damaging N’zoth before entering the secret phase also. It’s not too long, but definitely enough to get a few extra % of his health gone.

You got this, brother. Check for things like prepots and easily avoidable damage and you should get a kill very shortly.

We were getting it around 35% before secret phase every time.

But after secret phase there is an immunity going off right away with anguish going left, then it’s right then it’s paranoia

We aren’t immunity soaking anymore. We stack everyone in, use whatever necks are left, then follow the mechanics while burning. The 2nd add cast we let go off and just burn with the damage increase.
RL will also sometimes just call out to have everyone stack with Paranoia since it’s around the same time as the add cast, just have to watch for if you are getting pushed or pulled.
I was tired when I wrote that so I had some stuff out of order. To clarify:
Come out of secret phase. All damage tunnels into boss. No one touches adds. Let them come to boss so melee don’t lose damage. Everyone soaks the cast while you use whatever necks are left. (If you don’t have necks or want to you can still use immunities but they lose the damage on boss). Evokes left. Evokes right. Everyone stacks with Paranoia in melee range of boss and burn while the next cast goes off forcing Corruption buff to happen. The only thing to worry about at this point is the Raid Leader calling out to move away from boss if you are going to get pulled in. If pushed away even better. If he’s at 35% you should have more than enough as we sometimes have him a little higher than that.

For the secret phase, we follow pretty strict countdowns to help with this Harvest Thoughts as we come out. Here's the full timings we circulated for our alt raid:

    Phase 2 Begins
Start stacked for Harvest 1 - Group Soak with 2x necks
Evoke 1 - to the back, prepare for:
Beam 1 (Left) - MOVE to the right

    Evoke 2 - in-front of Evoke 1 - move RIGHT and prepare:
Paranoia & Mind Grasp - after MG, move straight to Evoke 3 position.

    Evoke 3 - thin 'slice'
Harvest 2 (1st Immunities) - those not immuning, move to position for:

    Evoke 4
& Beam 2 (Right) - Drop and MOVE right with the beam at the same time.
Harvest 3 (2nd Immunities) - those not immuning, move right and find your partner for:
Paranoia & Beam 3 (Left)- MOVE as far right as you can

    Gateway Spawns
Raid leader counts down transition - we go in with 3 seconds remaining on the Evoke timer.

    Chamber Phase
    Disarm Bombs #1 - 2 close and 1 far
    Dance & Bombs 2 - Middle
    Bombs 3 - 2 close 1 far
Bombs 4 - whatever you can get, priority on close.

    Add dies
Raid leader counts down the exit from the phase to ensure we all go together. Give the raid 3-4 seconds.
Run IMMEDIATELY to the boss upon landing.

    Phase 4
    Group Soak - Harvest 1
Drop Evoke Anguish in a thin 'slice'.
    Handle Mind Grasp
Hero and Full Nuke - Dropping Evoke Anguish 'safely' at the back of the room
If another set of adds spawn, just let their cast go through and kill the boss before you go insane.

As other people have said, once you are getting through Chamber consistently you are incredibly close to a kill.

    GOOD LUCK!
