Somewhere between 50 and 90% scaling in the games they tested, unless CPU bound, or the games didn't support SLI (which a lot of games don't).

So overall, between -3% and 95% scaling, for another 1500 dollars, if you can find 2 cards with the same SLI connector placement (it's not standardized in the slightest), and another 350+W of heat in your system.. But on the positive side you get to have the biggest epeen around, knowing that you spent 3000 dollars on just GPUs.

It's always a good choice to wait and find out if something works for real or not. And hopefully competition is going to drive down the prices of not only GPUs but monitors as well. Cause they can see a bigger market on 4k, when it's not exclusive to $1000+ GPUs.

That's the problem, we don't. Some people use it to mean 1920x1080, some use it to mean 2560x1440, and others, correctly, use it to mean 2048x1080

Nobody I've seen on this website, or anywhere else I frequent, is confused when someone uses 2K to refer to 1440p. Some of us do understand that 2k refers to 1440p in some cases, because the term is seemingly becoming more interchangeable.

At least with 4k it's "kinda" close, in that they're both 2160p vertically, but 2k has NOTHING to do with 1440p, even remotely.

QHD is Quad HD, or 1440p. 2k is not 1440p, it's not even close to 1440p.
That'd be like saying that 480p is HD, or 720p is the same as 1080p. It IS a big deal when people use the wrong terms for things.

2K QHD is also incorrect, its 1440p. See, K numbers refer to the first set of pixels in a resolution and 1440p has 2560 of them. So it would be 2.5K.

Here's another shocking revelation - we will have 3080Ti/Super early next year too, which will likely be very close to current 3090 at half the price.

You can bet they are binning their GPUs just for that and just waiting for red team to make its move to top it immediately.

My personal intent is to give it another half a year or so for 3080Ti/Super to appear and get that one and then good 4k IPS gsync monitor, until then I can certainly live with 1080Ti.

So 20 loops on Time Spy Extreme, not a single issue.

The 8700k is bottlenecking the 3080 pretty hard.

It's quite obvious that it's due to the AMD event on the 28th. Be it to kill AMD hype or prevent AMD from comparing it to RDNA2 or simply to possibly drop the price if AMD undercuts them by a lot.

And what comes to launches.. 3080 launch was very limited in Europe at least. You got only a handful of cards in remote regions.
